Well I don't know tbh. I suppose it doesn't need to be over 50% necessarily, as we are IP (therefore easier to realize our equity).

If I understand you right, it should be around ~45%. If we are talking about MTTs it depends on stack sizes and etc.. Lets say both are 50bb+ deep, BTN flat range vs UTG open should be like this - 76s+, 22 - JJ, KQs, ATs+,AQo. Hope that helps

In theory without antes:
-> EP raise 2,5bb -> you're in the BU you have 2,5bbs to call in pot which would result to be 6,5bb.
-> you would need around of raw equity 38,5% to make profitable call...

BUT as we know it's not that simple there's two players behind you to act and you're not going to realize all that equity.

To determinate and know how much equity exactly you can realize is something you can actually calculate by PIO solver if you're familiar with strategy you and your opponent plays.

Ingame you want to consider next factors:

1) Basics: Stack sizes, Pot odds, RAKE, your opponents opening range and your overall strategy. (In your overall strategy some hands could be some of the time called, 3bet or even folded with some % frequency depending what you think will make you most money in the long run.)

2) Skill level and aggression of the opponent -> Against weak and passive players you generally realize more equity since you're more often seeing flop + turn + river. Against aggressive opponents you will realize less equity since they are more likely to push you out from equity.

3) Players behind: Is there light squeezers, is it good or bad ? How likely is pot going to be played multiway (is BB/SB going to be calling a ton)?. 4) Future game factor (specially in MTT). In typical scenarios where I call, get squeezed, fold to cbet at flop, bluff etc. -> Result: Win or Loose -> How is this going to effect for my winrate/chipEV/$EV in next hands.

As a sidenote I would add that when you're shortstacked you're likely to overrealize your equity in multiway scenarios...

Could be scenario where you 10bb - 15bbs deep, but other players are deeper than you or forced to play with tighter ranges-> you face minraise + call, your in BB... Very often whether you decide to go AI on the flop or preflop you will go often against 1 opponent -> resulting 1 player to fold equity against you.
