Exactly! π It's a habit I've been swearing to break, ever since I came back to online poker!
Go back 20 years, when I regularly played live, I would often be dealing (self-deal until final being the norm at this card room) & I would hate players asking to see the next card. In fact, the house had a rule - No Rabbit Chasing!
And in online poker, it just wasn't something you could even ask for, there was no feature. It wasn't a thing...
Time goes by and competition increased (and went bust, etc.) and we see the online games adding more and more features into their clients, trying to carve out their particular niche - be it diverse game types, running double flops, adding things that improve player experience, and of course, throwing in various gimmicks, from funky animated avatars to adding a "chase the rabbit" button...
And now I come back to the game I once loved - and I find, instead of struggling online, I'm killing it! The game has changed even though it's the same game! But one thing has not changed - and that's me (or you). What's that saying, we are our own worst enemy?
Despite being burned countless times by X, Y, or Z - we still do X Y or Z regularly, like the creatures of habit that we are π. For me, it's clicking that button because I'd rather sate my curiosity like a donkey π
I guess I'm also very much exaggerating for dramatic effect how much tilt I was actually experiencing - hey, I still won, so was I really tilted? Emotionally, almost zero. Nah - and that's not an issue for many amyeay, because we will walk away and take a breather when that happens. We know that this is dangerous.
It's the little, non-dangerous things, like this what if flopped quads moment, that whilst not tilting in the typical sense of the word, play on our minds and subconscious. And whilst this is a playful post, the fact the hand had been playing on my mind, slowly eating away like an ear worm, affecting my memory, just shows that perhaps these moments have potential to be more dangerous? And my exaggeration, on analysis, is actually not? And in a different way than intended, the use of the word "tilt" wasn't wrong after all.
Or I'm just completely over-analysing a minute aspect of my game. π
Yes - in summary - I need to stop chasing rabbits!

If I'm wrong, please let me know.
You're not wrong, bro. And the pervious sentence is worded perfectly. Distraction is exactly the word I'm looking for.
