Spend some time there and check which hands you should call or 3bet in different spots. You should NEVER be there with A9o postflop. Too weak and dominated hand that doesnt have straight and flush potential.
yes A9o there always a fold. Spend some time to get a better idea of how the preflop game works because its really important.
There is enough content out there.
As played i would fold A9o on the turn and i would never flat there preflop again with A9o.
River is an easy fold. ( i think).
A9o is a bottom of my calling range on BB against CO. But it can bring you into a difficult situation like this one.
I've been struggling in similar spots, too.
As mentioned,.. A9o is a fold preflop.
As played, fold turn. It's mutiway so villains betting range is much stronger in this spot.
A9 is a standard fold preflop in this spot because it gets into weird situations postflop as you noticed.
As played I think folding on the river is the right play here.
You can win against 4 combos of missed straight draws + around 16 combos of missed flushes that want to bluff river.
So that's basically 20 bluffing combos at most.
But you're against potentially 8 combos of AT, AJ, AQ, AK, QJ, then 16 combos of KT.
Which makes it a total of around 56 combos of value hands.
And that's roughly a guess because I'm not counting AA, JJ, 55, 44 who could also take this line.
So with that ratio of bluffing combos and that many value hands combos I prefer to fold in this spot.
A9s has more playability post-flop. Makes it a lot easier to play with the flush potential. I would call A9s.
Now you are playing a guessing game out of position with A9o. Especially multi way you could be dominated and makes it less likely you are up against a flush draw.
