AK vs small squeeze

His 3bet sizing is small for sure, but if you think he’s only 3betting with the top of his range then 4betting make no sense at all. You don’t want to end up all-inn against a range of QQ+ and I would call this as well how nasty this will play post-flop, but risking more chips against a tight range will be burning more money.

That makes sense SDK1987. But on the other hand, hit 3bet preflop is high: 12.5 (only 55 hand though).

You definitely want to 4Bet here, cold calling pretty much caps your range. I would flat against nitty players, not someone who is shaping up to be on the looser end of the spectrum. His small 3Bet can mean KK+, but even something like AQo, you just can't know and give the Villain too much credit.

Also, his stacksize is weird. That, coupled with his 3Bet size tells me he could be a fishy player, so I may even stack off AKs preflop if I have any other kind od reads.

Yeah you can get it in vs 50bb stack
mix in calls when you're deep.

As played definitely call the flop
you can continue on 10 diamond cards
3 more cards give you the nutstraight
and on 6 more A+K you can continue also
and you still beat hands like AX KT etc. a looser player can squeeze small easily so it sometimes you call the flop and check it down and win even
and just throw it away when you miss

The thing is that lately, nobody's continuing at 5NL with anything other than QQ+ at that point. Of course, on rec networks you never know but on 888 against regs (and sites like WPN for Americans) It just seems like calling the 3b with AKs, IP or OOP, is the more profitable play longterm, no? I mean, are you getting the money in pre with AKs often?

True that, I think we tend to call more often with AKs. However, I call more often when someone raises from EP but not necessarily from the blinds. I can get it in with AKs but I do say that I first try to think if we can do something else.

The better you are, the deeper the stacks, the drawier your hand is (AKs is a very drawy hand), and the better position you have, the more you want to avoid flipping coins before the flop, and the more you want to play poker postflop. But here, effective stacks are only 50 bb if you can get the button out. Postflop cleverness might not get you very far.
