I don’t think you needed to take a free card on the turn, villIn can have 99-QQ, A8s, KQs maybe KJs , I think you can bet turn again but going all-in is going to get worse to fold and better to call, I think this type of play makes your opponent play perfectly

It doesent really matter because you go broke against a set anyway given that the pot is stack size on the turn already.

I would not go over 11 BBs preflop because you have position. I think raising 10,5 BBs are perfect here preflop.

On the flop i would just rangebet 1/3 or 40 %. Imo there is no need for half pot size. Because the pot will be already big on the turn.
And the board is really dry not much going on. Bet a bit less for more potcontroll. The turn is more or less a brick, 77 gets there 88 has you still beat.
Checking back here for potcontrol is fine i think. We want to have some strong checkbacks here too.

And we can reevaluate the river.

As played i dont think its a mistake and yes he can have worse hands here, so i think jamming the turn is fine too.
But i dont think its the best play.

I think biggest mistake you made on flop. There is no need to bet 1/2 - you have position and can just bet for 1/4 your entire range and no one can do anything as you are only one with AA and AK in range.

Anyway regardless what you do there is no chance to ever fold this. if he has set then so be it.

Thanks everyone. Knew it wasn't the worst play but definitely not the best,.. will need to incorporate betting smaller in these spots while IP. Cheers.

I think its a bit to easy to say excellent play just because we have AK here, we will also have JJ here QQ, KQs, TT 99, then what ?.
Then we still go halfpot flop shove turn line ? i dont think so.

With this line i think you will get a lot of folds against worse hands.

But i guess it doesent matter that much in micros, as 99 % of playerpool will say excellent play and never move up in stakes.
And exploititive you will get called by worse hands.

Even this post, i think what im trying to say, 95 % of playerpool will not understand because they cant think beyond having AK here.

I think we are a bit results-oriented here and on K8x board it is ok to go broke AK vs 88 vs unknown unless you are really really good... then you could maybe get away cheaper... Turn shove could indeed look like a bluff to him, so maybe he well call any? also depends on your history vs him I think.

Preflop - IMO i would maybe go a little bigger as there is 7.5bb in pot at time of your 3bet, I think. not much, I am curious why @LMcrow would only go 10.5, is it just you are IP, Being IP and playing NL10 i would want to take advantage of mostly all flops IP with a cbet as long as their is paint in Flop..

I think the hands was played okay, I believe no matter what you are going broke, even if you bet 1/4-1/3 pot on the flop, you will have about 72bb pot on turn with 81bb left about. So then what ever you bet on turn being 1/2 pot or more, he is most likely coming over the top of you with a c/r. so at that point I would guess you would be prices in cause you about 4:1 with what you would have left behind.. meaning your calling and only need to be right 20% of time... IF i did this correct.. hopefully..

cheers! unlucky... Keep grinding..

I guess it doesent matter, go 11 BB preflop or 12 or even bigger who cares. Take advantage of NL 10 and raise bigger with the premium hands.

I do think tho we just dont need to go half pot here and jam the turn every time, and go broke everytime.

And i do think that the half pot bet here 3way in 3bet pot can easily exploited by thinking regulars. Thats why i think its not the best play.
Its just says that we have AK or similar hand here all the time. ( Im just used to play the super nitty regular nl 25 nl 50 zoom pools on which i have very good results, where a c/r here in this spot from villian would be almost always a set.)

Everyone has different views or different playstyles and i think thats totally fine.

When I input some ranges into GTO+, the flop I gave options of betting 33 or 66 and the program liked both sizes 50% of the time each.

On the turn the program likes to bet 33% pot with 60% frequency and check the other 40% of the time and is not betting 2/3 here at all. I think GTO play is to bet smaller on all streets in 3-bet pot. like Emiya mentioned.

When we bet 1/3 on turn and villain bets 2.5x solver likes to 4-bet AK here , I'm not sure how it would react to a villain with no balanced turn raising range but its interesting.

I ran solver again but gave it the option to bet 1/3 or half pot on the turn it liked the 1/3 option 54% of the time and checking 45%. no 1/2 bet at all. After the 1/3 bet, turn check-raise solver has AK as basically a pure call.

really standard flop rangebet for 1/3 or less spot, both our hand and our range don't benefit enough from speeding up.
turn shove is particularly bad, both players hardly have any natural bluffs (this is a tight ranges spot) and so even villain's Kx may be in a quite uncomfortable spot, are you also taking this line often with a hand like AQ?

if you wanna get creative, the turn check behind may be interesting to give villain the opportunity to bluff with any missed backdoors from the flop? how many does he have when facing a squeeze against UTG and large cbet on the flop? :f_biggrin:

I would be going for a 1/3... i know i haven't taken my range into consideration in this hand. I think i was trying out 6 tabling zoom whilst i played this hand so cut me some slack :f_biggrin:

Hmm,.. let me count,......
0

But perhaps they spaz out with QQ and make a crying call,... we're in the wild west of NL10. :f_biggrin:
