The villain is 20/16/af3.5/3B:7, 6k hands

I think this villain is a pro and a wiener therefore very smart like a rocket scientist which should mean that he is smart enough to make the folds.

PokerStars - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 122.36 BB
SB: 106.08 BB
Hero (BB): 104.8 BB
UTG: 105.04 BB
MP: 126.56 BB
CO: 116.08 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♥ 6♣

fold, fold, CO raises to 2 BB, fold, SB calls 1.6 BB, Hero calls 1 BB

Flop: (6 BB, 3 players) 4♦ 7♦ 8♥
SB checks, Hero checks, CO bets 2.84 BB, fold, Hero raises to 9.12 BB, CO calls 6.28 BB

Turn: (24.24 BB, 2 players) 2♥
Hero checks, CO checks

River: (24.24 BB, 2 players) 4♥
Hero bets 32.88 BB

Mistake. You have just 6k hands about him. If this was true he wont be on nl25 for a long time. So it's way too early to make conclusions like this

Villian seems tight/nitty. His betsize OTF makes no sense to me. I expect if he is on a big hand set or overpair to bet more vs 2 players on a draw heavy flop. I will treat his c-bet as a weakness and play same way like you.

But on the turn your play is terrible. You should keep barreling and apply presure. Why do you check? Double check raise? If so it's still questionable and risky OOP

As played i will give up on the river with showdown value. Your line doesnt show much of a strenght and sense

When you set up for a bluff you either flex your muscles and intimidate your opponent or you dont do it at all. With this kind of play you will burn money long term

I checked to see what he does and what rolls off on river, I don't think I would've OB bluff without the Heart on river. So my logic is first it's a straight blocker bluff(may be some sets but not many on BB) and then the river is a nut flush blocker bluff.

Do you mean he's from Vienna?
Or perhaps he's a hot dog?
I'm not sure what you mean by "wiener" in that sentence.

I would not characterize the river play as a "blocker bet" it is more like an overbet bluff.
Here is how I understand blocker bets:

from: https://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/content/Poker-Basics-Blocker-Bets_117054/
A blocker bet is when you make a small bet out of position to encourage your opponent to call a smaller amount than they would have bet if they were checked to.

If on the other hand you are using blocker in the sense of you have the A♥: so you have a heart blocker, and prevent him from having the nuts, then the overbet makes sense. If that is the case, the turn check makes sense also.

Would probably donk bet or x-f flop. I think hand is just too weak to x-r or x-c. This flop hits BB range most so it will definitely allow us to have reasonably wide donk bet range. We have all sets, 65 and decent amount of two pairs in our range I would assume.

Dont really like turn and river line. If we had value hand on flop I doubt we are checking fairly blank turn. A♥:6♥: would be fine play for x-r flop but at least personally I would continue to barrel with it to have some nice triple barrel bluff candidate on blank river. Meaning we unblock villain folding range and block straight.

hi!

donking this flop is reasonable on average. with this holding it is not necessary but still better than xr. i prefer xf flop.

with this combo we can't improve our EQ (unless we hit) though we can get some buff EQ on similar runouts like this. but then we have to barell off all streets. as we would do with A:h X:h and boats as well.

so as mentioned before my post A:h 6:h or A:d 6:c have way more potential with xr and improve/rep something strong on later streets!!

edit:
when turn goes x/x you can not really rep boats/flush on the river. so i wouldn't be shocked if he called a bare 8x here.

Why donk bet will be better than check raise?

Because CO seems fairly nitty thus when he cbets a wet board vs 2 opponents (including BB range that hits this board hard) - he'll probably have something. We can still xr some hands - but wouldn't use a non equity hand like this.

Leading can be OK here - maybe even better than checking, but we make money basically because CO will check too often (and SB will not have a leading range), and if that's true i'd just let him make the mistake. But this seems an ok hand to lead with.

XR flop to then give up turns seems a pretty big mistake though.

This is not a valid argument and doesnt explain why donk is better than x/r His betsize is terrible. Donk bet vs 2 opponents and check raise seem equaly strong moves. Still... Check raise is slightly better because if CO cbets we can see SB's move and act accordingly. The hand is not a non equity also. We have gutshot + overcard. This is like 30%~ against most of his overpairs

Leading

It's not leading it's donking. Leading referes to a limp pot where nobody have the initiative

Main strong point in donking is that it's cheaper to go for than x-r. We also should donk bet decent amount of our value range here as CO is not supposed to cbet often. It would be even more so if preflop aggressor would be in earlier position as his range would strongly interact with board less. Now there are definitely good amount of players who over cbet flops so it depends.

Check is also fine but as I said earlier I think we need stronger hand for x-r. A6 with bd fd as an example. So when facing cbet it would fall to x-f category for me.

Both seem equaly fine. Donk bet might be cheaper but it's also vs two players. We have sb behind to act.

I would fold preflom with A6o, but vs 2 bb open, we can call any 2.
But what he rise for 2 BB, hand like Axo (A7o, A8o) or suited connectrors with gap 85s, 96s, or some wuited Q - Q7s, low pair .... or 2 BB is his standard size.

Aggressive 3B and his call on the flop looks strange - he must have good combination.
But bet on the river with 3x h with Ah blocker looks good to me.
