I'm not convinced we should even be calling 55 in this position, more like 77+.

Flop bet/call is fine, but really not a great spot at 25nl FR, there is a reasonable chance we don't do so well vs his range.

I probably end up calling down here, expecting to be beaten the majority of the time and calling for pot-odds. However I'd say part of the issue is preflop this kind of situation will happen time and again if we call too wide with our PP's preflop. We can call all PP's in LP generally but we have to tighten up significantly when we are in MP or EP.
