It’s good to know what your own though process was during the hand, but normal I would easy go broke pre-flop with KK and if he has AA it’s too bad. He can also 4bet with JJ-QQ and AK for value here.

Don't give this a moment thought. You should go broke here. it's one of those set-ups that is un-avoidable

We cannot call preflop here indeed. We should try and get it in and hope to avoid Aces.

As a means of varying your play, it is okay, but standard play is to shove preflop.
