NL10 - Defending 2nd pair

Imo you played this well. The board gets more drawy OTT as you said so you can get one more call, and you also get some outs yourself too. Vs that raise I think it should be folded often even if it doesn't seem to make sense. I have seen ppl slowplay sets like this. But with the note you had on him, I guess it is ok to call.

I would personally fold here OTT, as it somewhat looks like he is slowplaying a set. Given the note and the fact that he likes to float flops (possibly is aggressive too), I think your call is very gutsy, but OK and it worked out in the end. Also, some people will play their Jx like this. Doesn't make much sense, but they do it anyways. Some 2P hands like JTs, JTo are also definitely a possibility in my eyes (and raising OTT would be the normal line there). Not sure I would make a habit out of this call though. Plus the raise is very big and if he had the guts to fire again OTR, you would have to give up with your mediocre hand.

Fold turn vs the raise. You will be behind most of the time here.

I don't like the call OTT. More often than not you will be behind. Would you have bet the river when villain just called?

I don't even like the bet on the turn. You described him as pretty aggro post, well then I would play this hand as a bluffcatcher.

I think no matter who your opponent is I'd like a check on the turn
- the SB should call mostly pocket pairs and middling suited broadways
you're not getting value from pocket pairs besides 99 that should 3bet most of the time
AT KT beat you TJ beats you, J9s now beats you
So what calls now...T9s, 99
