Hey,

Villain plays 16/14 over 74 hands, no real stats on cbet % on flop or turn.

Are we ok to call flop here with OESD and backdoor flush?

Could we still call turn with OESD and possiblity of TP if we hit? Or should we be folding this?

Thanks!

Hey J,

Generally, fold preflop vs UTG. Your hand doesn't play well enough without some info. The inability to create a profitable spot postflop with a good hand just makes the preflop call worse. There are arguments for call again on turn, for raising river, for raising turn. Call turn to check/shove river when you miss to try and make him fold Jx or better that is not 2pair, check raise turn to make him fold pairs and bluffs now or check/raise flop to barrel off and use your equity to make him fold good equity hands, again almost one pair hands. If he cannot fold any of those, just fold turn as played.
