Is this ok to play if having a read that opponent donks 1/3rd only with draw hands?

Its ok to raise Imo but not that big. I think you isolate vs strong range too much. Unless they are huge stations.

You brought the concept of value/protection to a new level with that raise, ha ha.

Back to point, any read is legitimate, if you have that result, play accordingly.

Also do not shove because you do not want to play three streets, in that case play short stacked.

IDK man it isnt that obvious. I put them mostly on weak hands with the weak donkbet and call, but you have 7:1 risk-reward ratio. Even MP can possibly slowplay once and even though hes 100bb deepits still ugly when he shows with a set...
And lets say one of them has 86 or 76 - he probably calls a smaller raise but folds vs 200bb shove.

Why would you want to play for stacks here with overpair when you're 225bb deep? Unless the villain is some mega fish this line just seems bad. How many times have you seen him donk 1/3 of the pot with draws only? With which hands exactly do you expect him to call here? And there is also the MP to consider.

I certainly wouldn't shove the flop with those stack sizes. With the read we have, but also as a default vs that size I would raise like 3x and fold vs a 3bet.

QQ is not the nuts. No reason to shove there.

First - how solid is read of yours OP? I mean, how many times have you seen him bet 1/3 of the pot with draw? And if you want use this information as a solid read you have to actually answer many other questions. It is not only a question about how many times have u seen him bet small with draw hands. How many times have you seen him bet big with big made hand? How many times have you seen him do other sizings? With what hands? I would be really careful with this.

Second - it is important to know what is your equity against particular hands (and of course against a range). Just so u know, against AsKs you are actually underdog - u got only 45% equity. Against AsTs or KsTs u got ONLY 38% equity :f_o: Against hand like QsTs you got ONLY 44,8%. Against KsQs u got 52%. Against 6s7s you got ONLY 35%. Against As5s u got 46%. Against hand like 6c7c u r once again only flipping ...... So the thing is EVEN IF YOUR READ IS ACTUALLY SOLID you can only HOPE to be flipping. And now a question - do you wanna be flipping 225.6 bb DEEP ?! You most probably don't. Of course, if you are overrolled, we could speculate (after breaking down ranges deeply) if it isn't actually ok, but considering also a huge rake at this limit ... this is just not a good deal for us

Third - there is MP who called. The pot is MW. Your play is absolutely crazy. I would even say it is a spew.

Note: Hell, even against TsTx you got only 59%.

Second note: If I would be thinking about raising, I would be also thinking about folding to a 3bet OTF.

Everything is pretty much said. You need a good sample size and strong reads to conclude that he does it only with draws and never with sets. Shoving is absolutely too much, would have agreed with smaller raise even though it is not my standard line to raise overpairs, we will too often end up playing against sets.

Well, since it´s 3 way, I wouldn´t shove there. I would raise, as you have the read. I don´t think shoving is ok, because he will either fold or go all in too and I don´t think, that when he calls we are ahead. Even against monster draw it´s just flipping.

:f_thumbsup::f_thumbsup::f_thumbsup: Thanks everybody. I think that I have over-over-overplayed the hand. Agree with everyone. Hand played extremely bad. I know it. Wanted to find out some other opinions. Opp more than 10 times made this 1/3 donk bet w any draws. So solid enough read. But steal played really bad though. Looks like tilt was right behind my back :f_biggrin: But fortunately got lucky with this one.

What did he have?

You need a good sample size and strong reads to conclude that he does it only with draws and never with sets.

I would still play as I would play vs draw because even if he has set with same line - set is rare thing comparing to draw. So sometimes he will 3bet because he has set and we can fold, but usually he will call because he has draw. Unless he 3bets draws, in that case we 4bet probably :)
