Hi

Villain was very fishy/splashy
57/11/3
76 hands

Does the aggressive line by this player type mean QQ is beat or should i call off.

Thanks.

SB: $3.85 (96.3 bb)
BB: $8.70 (217.5 bb)
MP: $4.04 (101 bb)
CO: $2.13 (53.3 bb)
Hero (BTN): $5 (125 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q♠: Q♥:
MP calls $0.04, CO calls $0.04, Hero raises to $0.20, 2 folds, MP calls $0.16, CO calls $0.16

Flop: ($0.66) J♠: 9♥: 4♣: (3 players)
MP checks, CO bets $0.12, Hero raises to $0.71, MP raises to $3.84 and is all-in, CO folds, Hero ?

Answer this question and you will find a solution: why do you raise?

For value i'm not happy with c/o setting such a cheap price and taking the betting lead. But Mp check shoving wasn't in the plans. Just not sure if MP can be shoving wide enough to make calling +EV. I think calling is going to be o'k here long term but i'm certainly not 100% sure on it.

The problem is in what you just wrote: But Mp check shoving wasn't in the plans....
You have to have a plan for the hand before you click any of the buttons. If there are things that weren'tin your plans, that is bad. :)

Now, MP is x/shoving vs 2 players and you have to fold. Look at it closely. He sees a small bet+solid raise in front. He is strong and you can fold.

After thinking about it i agree that i should fold , i still like the raise for value though on the flop i think. Not in the plans was also probably not a great term to use what i meant by it is that i don't expect MP to be doing this very often so it's unexpected albeit possible on occasions. But probably raise fold was a far better line to be taking here.

Thanks for the feedback.

I would raise the flop here too, you need to get more money in the pot against CO, as he could be betting things like OESDs this weakish / smallish and by just calling, you are giving him the perfect pot / implied odds to draw. MP's shove is very worrying in this spot and you should most certainly fold here. As he seems fairly passive and it is a MW pot, I would expect things like 2 pair with hands like J9s or sets.

Raising the flop small bet is fine.
Not knowing what to do when raised is not. :)
