Hi community,
i was raising quite loose from the BU and then needed to make a tough decision at the river. Would you call villians river bet? Would you have played the hand different at the flop and turn? Villian is betting potsize at the river, so I need an equity higher as 33,33% to make the call profitable. Do you think I have this equity because villian will bluff more often then 33,33%?

Hi, kingdollar,
when posting hands, it's best not to post the results.
Don't even put 'em in a spoiler, since people will check anyway.

However...
I really like CBetting this flop, but when the board pairs I favour CBetting the turn as well.
However, as played, when opponent leads with a pot-sized bet, and the third club showing, you don't beat very many hands.

BTW, if opponent had posted this hand, I would have advised them that they played it poorly. J8o is a fairly wide defend, and calling down with a gutshot might have worked this time, but it's a great way to lose money.

Hi VorpalF2F,
thank you for your feedback. I think you mean this presentation style of a hand?

I would consider to just min raise from the BTN position with position on both blinds.
I would fold the river on villains pot size bet. You beat only a random bluff and villain can have multiple better hands. Straights, flushes and maybe even a full house sometimes.

Are you opening 3bbs from every position? Does your book advice that? It used to be common to open to 3 or 4 bbs back in the days, but nowadays, especially in late position, it is considered as a bigger raise, and I bet the ranges of your opponent will be a little bit (but noticably) different than when if you would open to less. Even @ $2nl/5$nl. You will more often encounter stronger hands and they will fold some weaker hands they'd normally play.

Hi Stackoffski,
the book is saying both, that you can open also with 2,5BB from late positions. It depends on the frequency that they will fold. But at GG Poker I have no statistical value for it. And to use Pokertracker live is forbidded due to GGPoker policies.

So yes maybe I could adapt here too.
