Am I missing something? AA and AT are only hands that beat you. Most likely villain has Ax and thinks his hand is the best. I would not fold.

Opening this hand from mp is a bit too wide for me. I think you cannot play it profitably from mp.
As played any Ax beats us so we should fold here.
Remember, do not get married to the hand.

So I was missing something, hehe my bad. I had just woke up. Fold here. And opening this hand is a bit loose as nitrol said.

You' ve missed it all. :)

I would like to ask hero to post his whole thought process so we should not be guessing why he opened this hand or why he played it like that. This will help him improve.

I think your opening range is a bit wide but that may be part of your preflop strategy. When SB leads on the flop you can narrow his range to Ax and probably TT-KK and against any of these hands you're way behind.
Calling here for me is the worst option because you continue to be the non agressor and you gain no information about his hand. Also I think you shouldn't be folding here because he is giving you great pot odds to continue.

So in this spot I would raise to about $0.40/$0.50. Then it would be easier to predict what he has: if he folds he either had TT-KK which I doubt or he had Tx (no bluff here); if he calls you need to be aware to FD's and Ax low kicker; if raises you better run away fast

In my opinion, by not raising here you're showing much weakness and you waste an oportunity to gather info.

Again raising for info. By raising here you burn money and the only info you will get is how weak you are at poker.
No offense, but this is suicidal here.

Well, you should decide based on what players are on the blinds. Do they like to squeeze?
Playing vs the fish is ok but still KTo is not the hand for that. What will you do if the shortstack fish pushes AI.

Not offended, we learn with our mistakes.
I think we would push him off enough times to make this play profitable. If we raise the correct amount he will fold most FD and if he has Ax he'll often reraise so it's an easy fold.
The other way around you'll be calling 2 streets and then folding the river because you have no idea of his holdings.

Question to debate: if hero calls turn and river is a blank, why fold the river?

1. Why do you want to fold the FDs?
2. What hands do you think villain will bet 3streets with?

1. If you raise to $0.50 you are giving him 4-1 pot odds, when he only has 3-1 to hit the flush (considering only FD), so it would be EV- for him. And why risk that money when you have such a dangerous board, with the possibilty of full houses? That's why I think we should raise OTF.

2. He either is bluffing because he knows he has no showdown value or he has a strong hand. So my question remais, why call the turn and fold the river when it's a blank? If you think you're beat OTT why call?

1. I would want villain to hit his flush.

2. OTT villain bets small, we want to keep his draws. Villains range is pretty wide OTT imo. River is a blank and doesn't change anything. So the question is why villain bets pot? It changes his range to Ax hands and some bluffs. So OTT I don't think we are necessarily beat and I want villain to get his flush if he has a draw. OTR when villain bets again to a blank card it changes his range and now I think we are beat. Do you see how him betting 3 streets and betting river pot size changes things?

I think I would call here if river was 4♣:..

1. Incorrect. We want to make draws PAY. Board is very heavy and by raising you will fold hands that you still beat and get called by hands that beat you. Why fold hands that you beat?
2. Villain bets small and it is stupid to fold OTT. On river he pots.... Do you think he is doing that with worse that much to make your call profitable?

1. la55i do you want Villain to hit his flush when you have two pairs? I'm missing something ...
1. nitrol my thought here is by raising you already know if you're beat accordingly to his action. Would he bet so small for value OTF?

2. so was he betting so small for value and then he pots why? If he has the best hand why not bet for value again? Either is wasting an opportunity to bet for value or he pots to pretend he had Ax when he only missed his FD.

His line doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm just learning so..

1. If he has Ax - yes, as you will fold vs a heavy bet.
2. No comment... :)

Next time don't bother answering..
Like I said I'm learning so I come here and debate my ideas, if you don't agree with them you either explain why and try to correct me or don't say anything at all.

Congrats if you know everything and are the best :f_drink:
