Villain raises to 3x from UTG+2 - not very deep. I still decide to give it a call with 8♠:7♠: in the SB (probably my 1st mistake of the hand)

Not a bad flop for me. I have a gutter to the 9 (albeit it's not a gutter to the nuts)
Villain bets .22 into pot of .32
Given how short he is, I probably should fold here ... but I call the .22. Now pot is .76
Turn: T♦:J♣:6♦:3♦:
Puts flush out there. He checks, I check it back.
River: T♦:J♣:6♦:3♦:J♥:
I check. He leads for .25 into a pot of .76
Here is my thought process. A one-third pot bet seems pretty weak here. He checked turn when the 3rd diamond came out and now he is betting one-third pot on the river. I sense weakness.
I figure he is holding a 
type hand or maybe pocket 77-99 - and he obviously doesn't seem too comfortable with it. I think he jams with a 
hand.
I shove for $1.66 effective into a pot of $1.01 - knowing he'll probably fold a hand and that there is an outside shot I can even get him to fold a weaker if he happens to have that.
He thinks for a loooong time, and is down to 2 seconds on his timer before finally making the call with K♣:J♦: for trips.
So I was happy that my bluff almost worked, but it may not have been very smart in hindsight.
After checking turn, it is really smart for me to jam and rep a flush? Also, the bluff would have been far more effective had the villain had more left in his stack. I think I picked a bad spot here. Lmk what you think ...
