PokerStars - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 100 BB (VPIP: 75.00, PFR: 50.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 5)
SB: 15.2 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)
BB: 197.6 BB (VPIP: 26.32, PFR: 15.79, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 19)
UTG: 112.8 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 3)
MP: 124.2 BB
Hero (CO): 239.8 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 9♥ T♥

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls 3 BB

Flop: (9.4 BB, 2 players) 6♠ 7♦ 6♥
UTG checks, Hero bets 5 BB, UTG calls 5 BB

Turn: (19.4 BB, 2 players) Q♦
UTG bets 1 BB, Hero raises to 11 BB, UTG calls 10 BB

River: (41.4 BB, 2 players) A♠
UTG checks, Hero bets 23 BB

Flop is dry, I got gutshot and BDFD, also two overcards, so I think it's ok to cbet, as there's a lot of cards for 2nd barrel, like any heart, or overcard.
Turn card is ok card to 2nd barrel I think, he might fold some lower pocket pairs, or KJ type of hands. 7x will probobly still call.
Is it ok to 3rd barrel on river? I think it's an ok card. not a lot of A in his range. I think by now he should fold 22-99, all high cards if he has any, 7x should fold too, maybe even TT and JJ?

I had zero hands on opponent, but he limp called, so I assume he's a fish. So that might be a problem because they can call anything. But currently I'm under impression that even against fish thats an ok spot to 3 barrel. Or maybe I should wait for bigger sample before trying to make moves like this?

BTW, I'm gold, but I wasn't sure if I should post it at Gold+ subforum, as it's only NL5.

Me too, do not like barreling vs someone who do not know where the "Fold"button is...

I like the raise preflop to try to isolate the limper, and I definitely agree you need to cbet this flop. When he donks on the Turn with a 1BB bet, in my experience that means he is on a draw (which is probably a flush draw). But you have T9, not exactly a hand that can beat even a drawing hand. And since it seems like this guy is not going to find a fold, raising the Turn is no good. I'd be okay with a call. If I don't improve on the river, I'd check/fold.

I think you need to have a better understanding of his ranges before doing this kind of 3 barrels bluff. Yeah... Vilain looks fishy but you only have 3 hands. However, if you want to look like you hit with QQ+-AQ-KQ-QJ, 6x,77, I'm not sure if your sizing on the turn is high enough. Half pot is a good price for his possible draws (FD or OESD).

In general, I think that a 3 barrels bluff strategy in nl5 against a unknow fish is not going to be profitable on the long term... :)

Bluffing all the way down vs a fishy guy doesnt seems to be a good plan.

Yep. His 1bb bet is kind annoying, but I dont think we can raise it.

I would just slow down OTT. I think bluff 3barreling vs unknown is not very good idea.

Exactly. We should continue if there is info on villain that shows he will fold much OTT.

+1

This is a great flop to cbet against a player who is capable of folding a pair. Against someone who has limped UTG, not so much.

u played it ok pre and flop ... Turn u made ur shot to steal the pot and i cant blame u much but u have to shutdown on river for sure......
Also u can call turn too .. dont forget that maybe T 9 are clean outs with the fish too...Or in some rare cases Thigh is enough against 98-45
