I played almost the exact same hand yesterday, but cant find it right now.
I was in the small blind with 89TJ double suited and called a preflop raise from BTN, BB reraised, BTN reraised, .....
BTN had pretty good stats and around 200bb , BB was LAG and around 80bb

Anyway, I just called everything preflop and I still think its not a bad move. On my stakes most 3 and 4-bets are just AA or KK and against those hands in a 3-way pot I'm still doing okay :) The only thing I thought was weird was BTN had a 200bb stack so not the whole pot was 3-way.

I don't like to cold call 3bets oop without some very good reads. So I would just fold pre.

I would fold preflop. your hand isn't nutty enough to play it postflop oop in 3bet pots, you will too often be dominated by a better flush draw. there will be many ugly situations which you generally want to avoid.

Fold pre-flop

Some scenarios:

       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    58.89%  58.83%   0.06% { AA** }
MP3    22.72%  16.29%   6.43% { KQJT }
CO     18.39%  11.96%   6.43% { QJT7 }

       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    38.50%  38.21%   0.29% { AA** }
MP3    29.34%  29.22%   0.12% { 8765 }
CO     32.16%  31.99%   0.17% { QJT7 }

       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    39.71%  36.87%   2.84% { AKQJ }
MP3    35.16%  35.16%   0.00% { 8765 }
CO     25.13%  22.29%   2.84% { QJT7 }

       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    29.22%  26.92%   2.30% { AKQJ }
MP3    46.76%  44.46%   2.30% { KKQJ }
CO     24.02%  22.79%   1.23% { QJT7 }

You will at best break even (I'm considering that most of the time at least one of these guys has AAxx)

The main problem with calling preflop here is that its likely UTG will resqueeze preflop. When you call in the blinds UTG knows you don't have aces, so he will likely shove over the top with hands like KK and QQ wanting to make a big sidepot since the other player is shortstacked.

This is the main reason why you have to fold preflop. Now if you were closing the action then you could make an argument for a call here, but being out of position with a drawing hand that doesn't have many nut draws, folding sucks, but is the best option even if you 100% know UTG isn't going to 4 bet.

You haven't committed any chips to the pot yet so folding isn't painful.
