I feel like I played this hand fairly decent but of course losing chips is never a fun thing. My Cbet was maybe a bit too large but I would usually bet larger like this with a queen to charge the flush draw. With this wet of a board and the villain showing so much interest would you maybe be more cautious? It was a semi bluff with the gutshot but I can't really see villain folding whatever he called pre with.

Here are some of villains stats, unfortunately we only have 18 hands on him. This is the first time he played back at me but with such a small sample we can't really take much from that.

Nothing wrong with givin up that pot, most certainly had better that Ahigh, bet on the flop might be also justified by backdoor flush draw.

Thanks, just needed reassurance. Figured it was fairly obvious but I used to get way too committed to AK like I'm sure many other new players do.

It seems really weak just check folding a wet flop like this but from what I've seen a Cbet this large is not very profitable since I barely ever see a fold. Maybe a smaller bet around a third to half pot would be better unless I have the queen. I really need to work on my sizing in tournaments :f_frown:

As play is ok, you have a good logic here. But if it does not work on flop you give up on turn which is not the optimal line here, i think. This kind of spot are often hard for play. Maybe check/call line is also ok here, you can play this line on flop and turn, on normal bets, and so you give yourself a chance to see one more card on river.

I do kind of like the sound of check call depending on how much villain bets. I can't see him ever folding to a bet on the flop given the PF action.

Yep. Its a good flop for most hands he is calling with. We have not good FE here, so x/c an evaluating the next street seems to be the best approach.
