$11 PokerStars MicroMillions PKO

I won this ticket, at this hand I'm about 224th out of 4000, and have two bounties already
Bear in mind that I'm not a hold'em player much, and tournaments even less — except for freerolls on 888, but that's another story.

Because of my decent stack relative to the table, I've been opening wider than I normally would.

PokerStars, $9.80 + $1.20 - Hold'em No Limit - 350/700 (70 ante) - 7 players

UTG: 40,022 (57 bb)
MP (Hero): 90,848 (130 bb)
MP+1: 21,400 (31 bb)
CO: 58,815 (84 bb)
BU: 46,602 (67 bb)
SB: 42,732 (61 bb)
BB: 76,791 (110 bb)

Pre-Flop: (1,540) Hero is MP with K♣:J♥:
1 fold, Hero raises to 1,680, 1 fold, CO calls 1,680, 1 fold, SB calls 1,330, 1 fold

Flop: (6,230) 8♠:T♥:K♠: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets 3,240, CO calls 3,240, SB calls 3,240

Turn: (15,950) 3♣: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero ??? <<< I ask myself, what worse will call? What better will fold? Answer "nothing" to both questions, but I thought perhaps some draws might. What do you think?

A loooot of draws will call here! I would cbet turn biggish overrepping my hand, but not the river (check-call/check-fold). Sometimes I like to bet turn big repping a strong hand to get value from draws while they anticipate a big riverpot if they hit because of the bigger bet, but then I suddenly shut down on river not giving them they anticipated implied odds. Note that they can river whatever 2 pair if you don't bet here ... even getting it heads up is a win.

Some draws could call indeed. Off course you have decent showdown value and CBetting against 2 villains is always tough to get to much value of weaker. Off course maybe a hand like KQ could fold the turn, but that's 1 of the few hands that's better.

Actually I shouldn't have said a lot of draws will call, but: when they do call the turn it will be a draw often. If you bet you will also fold out some draws and worse hands ... I think against 2 players you want to make them fold whatever they have on the turn here. Yes there are some better hands, but most of them raise. If you check this turn I think it's like giving up this pot ... or would you call the river when a spade, 8, 9, T, Q, A comes?

There is a new article on the site about "Equity Denial". Apparently I'm talking about that :f_wink:
