Hows it goin?

Yea I think I will stay away from zoom, atleast for the minute anyway.

Since signing up to Pokerstrategy only a week or so ago, it's amazing how much I've learnt. So many basic things in my game that I was doing wrong, most importantly bankroll management. I've decided I'm not going to deposit any more money and build a bankroll. I've started playing 6 max NL2 cash games, but don't think it will be too long until I move to NL4. I think gradually moving up as and when my bankroll allows it is much wiser than just putting money into my poker account and playing random SNGs and MTTs which is what I was doing previously (with mixed success). Playing to this structure should also give me an idea of what skill level I am actually at, as the more I read on this website, the less I see myself as a decent player, and the more I see myself as a :f_confused:

If anyone has any thoughts or advice, I would appreciate hearing from you

Thanks

Hey mr213,

It's good to see you're doing well in the Poker World :]

My current advice would be to start playing on a Tracked Poker Room (Sign up through us) so that you can turn that Basic Badge into a shiny Bronze and then Silver! There is so much more material for you to see and it'll help you jump further than nl4 that's for sure ;)

If you need any other help or advice be sure to give us a shout!

Thanks ThatGuyMatt

I signed up to William Hill through Pokerstrategy, I deposited money and have played some SNGs but for some reason I'm still showing as basic. Do I need to do anything else?

Ah, you'll be jumping up them status in no time then ;)

As for fixing your tracking problems have you filled in section 4 on This Page and/or the William Hill part on This Page ?

If that fails then you should open a Ticket with our Support Team, they'll be able to fix you :)

Let's hope it gets sorted soon!

Hey Michael,

Just so you are aware, it may take up to 48 hours for your status to update.

Enjoy that badge when it comes :)

I see Bronze!

:f_p:

Now you only need 100 SP's to get up to Silver. It's a lot easier than you think, for each day you earn 1SP, we'll give you 10, so play for 10 days and it's yours, read up on the promotion below.

===Get an Extra 10 StrategyPoints a Day ===

Best of luck on the tables :)

With the promotion that ThatGuyMatt mentioned, silver within a week shouldn't be too hard to achieve.

Hey Michael,

Gratz on the new badge. As for silver I say....... GO FOR IT!!!!!! :f_biggrin:

The 10SP bonus for everyday you earn 1SP was the only way I could reach silver. (Never play enough :( )

Ezy Game

Nice one mrd, flying through those status like their nothing!

Gold is qiute a step up though, unless you use 30 days worth of free 10SP's ofc ;)

So what are you playing to get all these SP's, are you winning too?

Yea I was thinkin it's gonna take me longer to get to gold than I originally thought, I'll get there tho.
I'm playing NL2 SH tables on William Hill to get the points, but also play the same tables on Pokerstars (not tracked), my bankroll has been increasing every day apart from yesterday (i would like to say because of bad luck, but it was bad decisions). Hopefully move up a level in the next week or so.

What do you play?

Don't worry about moving up to quickly in my opinion. Just develop a solid game while you are still in the micro's. And when you have that solid game moving up will be a breeze!

As Ras says, there's no need to be in a rush to move up the limits. Make sure you're ready to move up, making one mistake when moving up could cost you a a much larger chunk of your Bankroll than if you do it when at nl2 :)

I do love MTT's, I've never usually got enough time to sit and grind them constantly. So my main game is 6Max Cash like yourself, I've not played a great deal this year though as I've been pretty busy but I just started playing again yesterday. I've started from the bottom at NL2 and plan to win my way up to millions :P

We've probably played a few hands against each other too!

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm not going to move up until my bankroll permits it, and even then, if it doesn't work out, I'll not be afraid to drop a level again.

I love MTTs too, but fancied something different, so switched to 6max cash last week with the plan to build a bankroll. I think starting at NL2 and working my way up will help me hone my skills, and prepare me better for a return to the MTTs at some stage.

I'd say theres a fair chance we've played a few hands. What's your name at the tables?

Looks like you have a good head on you, hopefully you'll go far on the virtual felt!

It's a secret :]

I've played just over 5k hands in Zoom and -1BI, EV should be around +7/8BI >.< You're playing Zoom or regular tables?
