review hands after end session

Well it's obviously up to you what you want to focus on. Could be:

- Hands marked during session
- Certain sized pots
- Certain situation, e.g. calling open raise from BB or 3betting late position open
- Going through frequencies etc.
- Positional report
- Focus on certain hand category

Plus whatever else. Don't focus on whatever pot was won or not. That doesn't tell if hand was played well. Won pot can be awfully played and lost pot perfectly played. End result itself is kind of irrelevant. If villain shows with hand that surprises you might be important point though.

But yeah as starting point I would advice to mark hands that you feel uncertain of. That is easily done during play at least with PT4 and probably HM also. Check them later and if needed post for other people to see. When posting go through your thinking process to get most out of it. Often in the end it's not about "what to do with one hand on certain spot" but "what questions should be asked in that spot".

:heart:I mark hands in game that I want to review later, you'll miss them if you don't mark them during play.

:heart:When I review, I look at the top 2-3 net wons and net losses from the session (these are usually pretty standard all-in hands, but seeing them grounds me so that I know sometimes I win when I shouldn't and bad beats happen and I can let them go...)

:heart:When I'm done playing a session, if I felt like there was an area I struggled with, I'll mark it down... it might be playing certain post-flop spots, playing IP or OOP, reviewing my betting and calling ranges versus different types of opponents, playing multi-way pots, bet-sizing, dealing with limpers, etc... then I'll study those spots.

:heart:Sometimes I'll read an article about a certain poker topic and then go and find some examples from my hand histories and see if I'm applying things correctly

:heart:I try to focus on only one thing each review session.

:heart:only make 1 or 2 adjustments at a time and practice them in game until they are automatic, then look at another part of your game.

okay thank you guys .. one more question if you dont mind .

when reviewing my hands . then to know if my play was right or wrong . then i should look for the +/- ev plays right ?

and the +ev plays is the plays where the pot odds/% is bigger than my % when counting outs from my hand . like if the pot odds is 3:1(33%) and i have a lets say
20 % flush draw . that is +ev play right ?

sorry if i ask too much (stupid questions) its just all new to me to review the hands and counting pot odds and outs ♦

im using the trial of pokertracker btw if that makes it easier to help guide me

I'm pretty much the same:
 I mark hands in PT4 that I want to review -- usually because I had not idea what the correct play was
 I also review my worst few losses to see where I made the mistake (or even if there was one)
 I also review my biggest win (if any ) to see if it was my play -- and what I did right -- or just pure dumb luck

If I have a hand in the first category, that I can't find an answer to, I post it in the appropriate hand discussion forum.

Also, when reviewing, I will usually open Equilab (there is also an omaha version)

I agree with everyone, I mark hands that confuse me during play, or hands that I am unsure what to do.

As for your ev question, the example you give is a -ev play without implied odds. For that example you want to fold as you are getting 3:1 as your odds and your flush draw being 4:1 to hit…

ahh okay so i got it the wrong way arround . the hand odds should be bigger than the pot odds ? is that the right way

I start with the hands that lost me the most money, plug the biggest holes first. Once that stabilizes and I’m not bleeding money then I focus on subtle things like too thin or missed value

I like to review with psolver the hands I win and also the ones I lose, if I bet wrong or generated different opportunities for the villain!

ty for the answers guys . i do have a small problem tho . when review my hands after im done playing i dont know how to make sure i played the hand right or wrong

i look in replay and see the hands and im not sure if i would have played the majority of the loosing and winning hands any different . but i think that is mainly because im actually not really sure what to look for to see if the decission was right or wrong in most hands

i can see some bad beats when i look at pre flop - post flop percentage of the hands so those hands i would say i played right . most of them is all in hands
from bubble at sng table where im 10 or less bb left in my stack .

but the 20-40 or so bb winning and loosing hands im not sure what to actually look at to make sure if i played right or wrong all i can see is that i dont think i would have played them much different most of them some of them yes but most of them no

but that might be because im not totally sure what to look after to be honest

Post some of the hands into hand analyze area and explain why you took certain action. That way your thinking process becomes visible for others and conversation can begin.

Well, I see you are a beginner if you can't figure out if it is a wrong play or not. And this is great, 'cause most of them never think to review their hands played. I asume you have no "deeper" knowledge, you're playing standart, and this is why I recommend posting some of your hands on the forum to see what people say about the hand you played. First you need to understand the way others think, what exactly are they take into account when reviewing a specific hand.
Absolutely recommend also watching pokerstrategies streams, especially LemOn. He does many hand reviews. This way you can understand the thinking process. After a month or so, you will havea basic idea how to review your hands on your own. Continue watching hands analysis videos, and you will advance more and more.
