Read and work with the Mental Game of Poker (volume 1).
Reevaluate your game.
Force your self to FOCUS on how well you play and how you improve both technical and mental game and try not to think about the outcome of a specific month, ofc when necessary drop down in stakes.

I've been busted back from NL 10 to NL 4 and hovering on the edge of NL 2.

I would suggest that you try to focus on the mechanics of the decision process, but I think that HUSnGs might be not the right place for that.

Is there any value to play a lower-variance game for a bit to help get back to a healthier mindset?

@cozanu thanks for the suggestion I haven't really spent a lot of time on the mental aspects compared to the technical parts. I think that's what might be lacking. Will definitely look into that. Thanks

@vorpal thanks a lot for the reply. HUsng is low variance compared to other sng's and mtt not sure about cash games though (so I've heard). But I really find it hard betting actual money lol. That's why I prefer the tournament form. I really enjoy playing HUsng's too the mental aspects of it and never burn out. But I think I need to regroup and take a bit of time off maybe will take your suggestion and try other forms 2NL perhaps. Thanks

@saren113 I usually played with 100bi perhaps I need to increase the amount.

In HU Hypers variance can be fairly brutal, but as long as you follow a strict BRM system you shouldn't ever go bust, unless you're a losing player obviously.

Just play your game, study and improve to push every edge you can get and be thankful that you're experiencing the variance for a first time at the micros, rather than running good and then hitting your first hard patch at the midstakes.

thanks @wriggers yeah variance is brutal. I went and got mental game of poker started reading it yesterday. I also won one of those HU shoot out mtt yesterday so that helped my bankroll greatly and can go back to 7s and 15s. But I'll take the week of just to read the book.

Haha thanks, can't take all the credit, variance has been kind to me.

$30s is pretty easy tbh, there are a few decent regs but if you get lobbies you mostly get tilting lower stakes regs and general recreational players. Atm the only good players sitting me are a few good 5% ROI regs who will play anyone and some $60s moving down for volume

Its part of the game i suppose.. I used to play a lot in BWIN and i stopped playing there because of really bad beats for me where i lost around 2500 $ ..
had A3 flop was ( AA3 ) and the other guy pushed me all in for around 800 $ on flop, I had to call because i have the best full house .. the he showed up ( JJ ) and he the turn and river were ( J J ) where i lost to runner runner cards where he had no clue..
Thats a bad beat.. but part of game..

In SnG , you cant change the factor that a player pushes all in with a K or A or Q or sometimes 10 high card .. and u can avoid it that you might have 9 A and he will be having 4 Q and he will push , u call ( your call is correct ) but if he hit a 4 or Q .. u are really in bad shape.. but as long as you are playing correct, its ok..
Evaluate every wrong calls you make ..thats more importat , losing when u are)
