Hello,

I would like to know what specific data you are keeping track of (via HM3 or PT4) to improve your gameplay in cash games.

2 Random examples: I've seen that my winrate in pots that I double barrel + river check is negative and pretty bad. So now I'm keeping track of this and I'm trying to be more thoughtful of which boards I'm (semi-)bluff double barreling or 3 barreling.

Also my winrate on very wet flops has become worse and a reason for concern. Now I'm paying extra attention to these type of boards.

Perhaps there are some things that I'm completely unaware of that are ruining my game, but that you guys are familiar with. I hope I can learn something from these discussions.

I'd you double barrel and river check, make sure you're doing it with showdown value. You shouldn't be double barreling and checking with no showdown value. Go for the triple barrel.

Autoprofit spots: on the turn you should be probing and following up on the river in almost all spots.
So if an opponent checks twice to you, make it a habit to bet bet.

Try hitting gold and watching weasels videos. Well worth it.

I watched yesterday one great video that submitted almost all the bigest mistakes in holdem. It shows how players loosing big number off pots with bad position a even worst cards.

As I am trying to get back into playing Hold'em, I find that I have tightened up a huge amount.
On 6-Max tables, I'm in only about 20-25% of pots overall, and most of those from CO, BTN, SB and BB
I'm trying to target the blinds much more in position, and trying to 3Bet more from the blinds vs known (or suspected) wide-range openers.

pot odd must e greater than odd of that particular hand, simple but solid.

Don't forget implied odds though ...

I just found out my opening range on the BTN and SB is waay too wide. It felt like the entire poker world was 3betting my steals and shoving after my resteals but I might have granted them too much info on my opening range :f_ugly:

What is your winrate on the SB, CO and BTN when you open? I'm interested to know as I am too involved and feel that it's pressuring my winrate

I really don't know at the moment, because it has been a while since I imported my hands from GGPoker.

I'll do that later today, and post my stats by position...

OK, this is quite surprising.
First off, there are only 8522 hands going back to Aug 01 this year -- I didn't keep track of GGPoker before that -- also, there may be some gaps because GGPoker only makes hands available for download for a limited time (most recent 3 months)

Here is the chart showing results by position from GGPoker's Pokercraft page:

Spoiler

Here are the stats from PokerTracker:
Pos      #  WTSD %    WSD  BB/100       Won    RFI   VPIP    PFR    ATs  Stole  4Bet PF
  SB  1,602   31.23   51.9  -21.84  ($17.49)  38.95  24.47  17.17  38.95  52.24     5.41
  BB  1,597   29.26  44.03  -42.58  ($34.00)   37.5  24.61   9.17      -      -     1.65
  EP    841   29.41     52    -1.9   ($0.80)  17.66  17.95  17.64      -      -       16
  MP  1,379   29.58  59.52   44.41    $30.62  19.68  18.93  17.91      -      -    12.82
  CO  1,520   26.82  54.17   22.84    $17.36  23.46  20.53  18.01  23.46  45.08       10
 BTN  1,583   35.58  50.45  -24.66  ($19.52)     48  34.74  28.73     48  45.97    14.94

It looks terrible, but since Oct 01 it has improved a lot.
What is even more surprising is the graph:

Spoiler

I have no clue why I am winning so much w/o showdown -- except that I have a generally tight image, and I generally have a large stack...

Also, I don't know why MP shows as a definite win in PT4 and a loss according to GGPoker -- but I suspect that there may be other limits in the GGPoker calculation

Thanks a lot for your effort man. Funny thing is how my showdown value used to be pretty high and my non-showdown was terrible and now that I have nitted up the trends are very similar to yours!

Your BTN winrate seems to be pretty low. Any idea what could be the reason for this?

I filtered by just the BTN hands, and found that I had 5Bet shoved several times and lost.
Twice with JJ which seems to be my nemesis hand these days...

That's a nasty spot to be in indeed. I would only shove them against maniacs in those type of situations but then I would still feel not being ahead

If you're not playing the implied odds often enough you're losing out on a lot of value. What this means is, your pot odds might not be right to call, but if you have a good number of outs, or even if you don't, but have enough equity that some of those outs could provide good bluff value, you should go ahead and call.

I'm taking implied odds into account especially against fishes. Seems to work out pretty good lately
