I built my PokerStars bankroll on microstakes FL 5-Card Draw, but it took a long, long time. If I had had confidence I could have done better going as high as $1/$2 but those games don't exist any longer.

For now, I'm doing best at Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo split — the split pot part means that it is unusual to lose a lot, so it is good for getting the $64 monthly rakeback bonus from PokerStars. I've also been playing higher stakes FL Omaha Hi/Lo. It isn't as bad as it sounds. You take the same amount to the table at FL $1/$2 as you to at PL 25. so the risk is about the same, but the rewards can be higher.

Same goes for FL $3/$6 Stud Hi/Lo The main thing there is to get the hell out of the hand on 5th street unless you have a made hand or strong draw. Once again, this is good for building rakeback points.

You assume that people will fold.
At the site where this exists, it is "no fold'em hold'em" pre-flop, where everyone (except me) limps pre.
I also don't know if any rake is taken pre-flop or not.
My current strategy is to join multi-way pots with a range similar to:
TT-22, J9s+, T8s+, 97s+, 86s+, 75s+, 65s, J9o+, T8o+, 97o+, 86o+, 76o, 65o
from all positions

In earlier positions, I'll add almost anything better than that.
In late position, I'll raise almost anything better than that

I don't like to bet in cases where I have no control over the outcome — so that leaves out sports betting.

Passion would help, too I guess. I long ago stopped caring about professional sports.

If you know how to play NLHE it's most likely easier to win money on long-term than with betting. Offcourse most of the time if you pick the favorite team or player you will win most of the time, but I don't think you can life with sport betting, but I don't have much experience with sport betting for living.

I've played NL Hold'em before, but I'm more into sports betting. It's always been more intriguing to me, perhaps because of my childhood passion for sports like football. I find sports betting to be a safer and more engaging way to potentially earn some extra money.

Although some people[1] have made a career out of sports betting, I'm guessing that without in-depth knowledge of the sport(s) the variance would be huge. My wife and I once went to the horse races with a friend of mine and I, and my friend was equipped with all the handicap charts and so on. My wife, who grew up around horses, just watched the horses during the parade to the post. She observed how the horses walked, and the behaviour of the jockeys. She could not always see a clear edge, but for the several races where she did, she picked the winner. In-depth knowledge rules!

Another fun casino-like poker variant to the game that can be enjoyable, I guess.
And this variant seems fairer than the variant where it is push/fold pre-board only, at least you can make another action on the river.

Try pressing the blue "Bet" button, to the far right. (instead of the green "Check" button.)
When you press this, (and you can even put in a $$$ amount up front), what happens is that the $$$$ pot becomes bigger and if people call you, you can win more money!!! :f_biggrin::f_drink:

Don't know. I'm not a ice hockey watcher. That makes it tough to predict who will win.

One Shot Hold'em sounds like a fun and fast-paced variant! Having the flop, turn, and river come all at once definitely adds an interesting twist to the game. It must make for some exciting hands with all the community cards revealed right away.
