Hi,

Let's say cutoff is opening 25% range and calling 10%.
We have A7s in bb.
We block more combos of villains 10% range than 25% open range.
How do I determine villains calling frequency of 39.7% given above information.
Assume we are stealing with 76s how did I get the number 40.2% calling frequency?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not really sure what your question is here... If he opens a 25% range and calls a 10% range, that's a calling frequency of 10/25=40%, don't think those tenths really matter?

But if you know his exact range then yes, you could calculate the frequency more precisely because you know which hands you block combos for. So let's give him a hypothetical 10% calling range of:

TT-66,AQs-ATs,A5s-A2s,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,AQo-ATo,KQo (138 combos)

If we have A7s we block 19 of those combos, so he calls 119 combos.
If we have 76s instead we only block 6 combos, he calls 132 combos.

So with A7s we will clearly have a higher success rate if we want to 3bet bluff than with 76s due to the blocker effect. Of course if we do get called we have to be more careful if we hit TP because we only beat 12 of the 48 Ax combos he can have.

Not sure if this is what you were after but hope it helps anyway :)
