Form many years Stars is known for the excellent poker software and for a reason, they are really far far ahead from other poker rooms. I cannot believe that now they are introducing this shit! It looks like a group of newbies are trying to create a new poker room. It is very very bad and I hope they will at least allow the use of the old engine indefinitely.
The thing is, Stars no longer care about the convenience of longterm winners. All they care about is attracting and retaining recreationals with the fancy looks of the software. Sabotaging the grinders is actually +EV to Stars, though it happens unintentionally as a by-product.

Have you played on aurora?
Have you played on aurora?
Just few hands, before switcing back to the old engine. It's just terrible. It slows my PC with just one table and I have a decent PC, not the best one, but can run 9 tables with HM2 and helper without any trouble. With aurora I can hardly run a single table, HM2 is not working at all, there is an ugly animation, left mosue button now shows table themes menu every time I click with it and it's set up as a hotkey fold. It's very bad, it has many negatives and nothing positive.
As long as using Aurora remains an option and no one is forced to use it, I don't see a problem, really. Seems to be kind of like those gimmicky 3-D tables on 888, not sure if they're even still around. They may be stupid and pointless, but whatever, you just don't use them, and no harm done.
Haven't used Aurora before, and I doubt I will. I believe I saw an announcement about it a few months ago, thought it was kind of silly, and simply forgot about it until now.
It doesnt look like an option. If it was an option I will not care at all. If one wants to torture himself, or to buy a PC for 20k, it's up to him, not my business. But today I was sent there without warning and notification, spent 30 min to figure how to get back. It's not just a new skin it's a new engine, they will be likely not willing to run both engines and will allow some time, and then will force everyone to revert to aurora. And I will have to look for another room, aurora is just totally unplayable.

How to try it? I thinks its still in beta and not finished.
Try playing Power Up for microstakes - it's been based on Aurora from the start. You'll be so underwhelmed that you won't be looking forward to the day when Aurora becomes mandatory for all forms of poker.

When I logged in earlier today it was there, to change it back a restart was required. Might not be available for all clients, they will likely introduce it step by step, but if we have it (.bg) it is a matter of time mabe few days, or even hours to be released for the global client
It's an option for now. I'm playing on pokerstars.pt and can still be reverted back. I hope they keep the old client, it's much faster and engaging.
I also didn't care much for the available themes. I'm still a fan of the hypersimple and the dark colored decks. It's not a horrible change like ignition did recently but it's no good at all. If they ruin the last good thing about pokerstars (the software), I'll start playing on the chinese apps instead.

Are you saying that it´s possible to play in Chinese poker rooms from Europe?
GGPOKER and Natural8 have a very large Asian clientele - perhaps that is what is meant by "Chinese" poker rooms
I think the 'Chinese apps' that were meant aren't on the GG network but are unregulated 'social gaming' mobile apps that can be accessed from around the world through payment 'agents', but I'm afraid the downside risks are too large there: 1) the agent may turn out a scammer, 2) collusion and botting are hardly monitored, 3) the club managers are free not to pay out the winnings to those whom they consider winning 'too fast'. Even if the loss of the whole account balance to these threats happens seldom, it hurts a lot when it does. I'd rather just play lower stakes or MTTs at regulated sites.
