As far as I know, Indonesian residents are allowed to play at Stars; there are mirror sites that are set up for Russia and other countries where Stars' main site is blocked by ISPs, but if you sign up via one of them or use a VPN, it's not guaranteed that your account will be tracked to Pokerstrategy. So it's best to send a support ticket so that your case is dealt with personally.

I do prefer iPoker to Stars for 3-handed jackpot SnGs because blinds grow faster on iPoker and there's a bit more fish there and I think my $ per hand (and per hour) profit is slightly bigger on iPoker because I'm able to play more tournaments an hour (with a slightly lower profit per tourney), but such preferences are too individual (my net worth is big, so I can afford to multitable not focusing on playing each hand optimally, but when the bankroll is small, it's better to play the game with the highest ROI / winrate even if it's slower), so please ask a question in the thread 'Choosing the right poker room for you!'
Do not use a VPN. If you get caught it's gg account, gg funds and gg to ever playing at PokerStars and Full Tilt again.
