Well, I don't want to use this blog to whine about suckouts etc but I am pretty frustrated right now because I'm running like shit. Not running below ev, just missing every single flop... like no equity at all... cbets either get called or raised... I get a premium hand and the flop is super wet and villain goes all aggro or they fold pre lol

Grrr poker can be really bad... I've been running like this for about 6k hands apart from 1k last night where I was up 6 stacks... Those 6 stacks have gone tonight and I've only been all in once lol

Perhaps it's the blog... maybe it's no coincidence my blogs never make it... It's the blog monster coming to get me :f_cry:

Meh, been through this before... Figured it's better to vent a bit here than start spewing stacks.

Mini vent over.

OK, well I've fallen back far enough now to play NL2 SH.. $57 in ma roll :f_cool:

At least at NL2 my win rate is consistent and I don't see so many swings. I'll probably grind back up to $100 before playing NL5 again as this last week or so of running cold has tilted me a bit. When I hit these patches I feel like I can't play and that I'm being completely owned by every player at my tables. I really need to work on my mindset!

Started playing NL5 with 100$ for the first time and 3 days later I'm back to 50$ like the bankroll management says I start to play on NL2 again and I beat it easily. What I suggest is using like 3 BI drop off so If you start NL5 with 15 BI and lose 15$ you are back to NL2 and just grind it back up in like 2 days running good. I never dropped back again after I took the 15 BI shot with 3 BI drop off and I'm at 120$ now. I suggest you do the same it worked out for me and grinding back up to 100$ is painful. Just set a small drop off limit so you don't tilt because you saw your roll drop by like 50$ and you can easily regain confidence going back to NL2 after a bad session on NL5 and winning most of it back.

Hey Krishjanis, you're right in what you say. The reason I let my account drop so far back is I wanted to have the best shot at staying at nl5 but you just can't control when you're going to run good and this is why we have BRM! I don't mind too much, I know I can grind it back in a week or so playing nl2 and I was half expecting this to happen so it's no big deal.

I might stick with nl2 euro tables until Zoom goes live on Stars as by then I should've built 30-40 $NL5 buy ins up to give it a proper go. I also think that I'll have better and less swingy results playing Zoom poker as I'll be able to put in good volume on less tables which means I'll play each situation better.

Admittedly I still play a few too many tables so for sure I don't get as much value as I could when I'm ahead and probably call a little too much when I'm behind due to not following the action closely enough so Zoom should be good for my game.

I've posted this in the self study and management board looking for some advice. This here is my single biggest leak and probably the reason I've not got away from the micros... This is what I need to work on and eradicate from my game completely.

I assume other players do it, or maybe it's just me but I'm looking for your thoughts on this..

I am playing micro stakes, I'm ok for the limits I play but that's all really. My knowledge of poker theory is pretty solid and so is my hand reading when I'm playing my A game but the problems come when I don't play my A game... I was listening to the Jared Tendler radio show on QJ here: http://www.quadjacks.net/?p=8260 (thanks Verneer!) and Tommy Angelo mentioned what he calls 'the fog' that seems to descend on players when they're running badly and this rang true with me big time.

It's like a mist comes over my brain and I default to this autonomous leak filled strategy where villain's range doesn't even come in to my mind and neither do things like pot and implied odds.

This is behaviour I obviously learned when I first started out as I 20 tabled DONs for a while and basically broke even over like 4K games so it shows how badly I was playing without even realising it.

How do I rid this stupid nonsense from my game? I have heard the advice to take it one hand at a time, concentrate on the plus ev decision etc etc but when I hit this frame of mind it's not even like I am concsiously thinking about how I'm playing - I've gone beyond that and it's like I can't find a way back. The worst thing is, it only seems to happen when I run bad so in that sense it's a form of tilt I guess but I don't feel like I have control over my actions and as stupid as it sounds, I don't even realise I'm in this mindset until I've spewed off some stacks.

Anybody else have this problem or can anyone give any constructive advice?
