fwiw it was like 20% more than chip chop for chris but still quite a bad deal given how fishy he was. i advised chris not to take it (and tuna saw me do this) and tuna comes up afterwards and just goes to chris "blah blah blah wp, don't listen to your friend in future".
fuck you tuna!

ill pm you
did not have time to get u discounted ticket, sry. i recommend getting there slightly earlier and just asking around seeing if anyone has any... otherwise obv gotta pay full price like a boss/balla
will share with u a HH in my tournament, gonna jack pleno1's thread for the gifs.
blinds 400/800/75, competent older man raises to 2000 from CO (44500 starting stack), BU folds, I have 8 :spade:7
in the SB and I'm like

I 3bet to 6100, BB folds and CO calls.
Flop comes 6 :spade:3 :spade:3 :club:.

I bet 4900, he calls.
Turn comes A :spade:. I'm like

I check, cause I feel if he has TT-QQ it's really tough for me to get a call on the turn let alone 3 streets of value, and sometimes he folds some Ax on the river given no history. So I get 2 streets for sure if I get to bet the river when he checks back turns. Anyway, in this HH he bets 12000 and I think

hollywood for a bit, and ship it in for 33500 effective. He snapcalls and shows Q :spade:J

I lose a 90k pot

so I'm left with 24k (20k starting), hope you fare better tomorrow lessthanthree!
first day back today. went really good.
here's a FPS reg being bad.

nice read JB. thnx for that.yeah variance sucks. big fields aren't my main game (but a very +EV daily addition to my sets) and I luckily have other sources of income to sustain myself through the tough times. I'm usually very thorough in my thoughts, but at the moment with the instability in online poker I'm just seeing where things end up. I really feel much happier grinding these games than grinding out a 1-2% roi in the HS STTs on stars. Even if they are very frustrating at times. I think the 16k STTs prepared me a lot for the variance in MTTs.
I was wondering why did you switch back to STTs?
Is that hand bubble or ITM?
If you raise a ton of completes, obv its fine for him to trap once in a while. If you don't (vs him) then yeah, hate the limp...
When you call on the flop, your hand is 6x, 3x, 9x, 45 or 78, or bluff floats (assuming u raise 2pair mostly).
So, unless you are lucky enough to turn 2pair, your betting range on the turn is really polarised. Same riv, ofc. So I dunno whether his calldown is really that bad... (but if on bubble then I like it much less).

yes, but (I know it's obvious, but maybe it's worth pointing it out) Hero has to bluff like this super-much to make it a call on the river.
nice sizings, got kinda owned the other day in cash by someone taking this betting pattern (but way more balanced than you
). obv he can snapfold unless he thinks lessthanthree is nice and balanced in this spot (in which case he is at the top of his range and should probs call), but yea very clear fold without this information!
@ dydukas, at the time of writing that I was very burnt out of STTs. I've come back nice and rejuvenated. I like the balance of consistent RB with steady roi.
@ tim , i was owning him a lot on this bubble. He knows I know his line is super weak. Hero's gona hero.
