Managed only two hours of play today, and along with two videos, epic f1 race, going to a friends' for beer and Italy playing football (England just wasn't), means it was a pretty OK day.

As for results, I played only the 3.5s (about 50 games), and ended up dead zero. Pretty shitty card distribution, but I have to say it didn't bother me at all. Pretty happy about my play. I'm rarely lost, and my most problematic area seams to be 9-13bb deep. General rule of thumb for these hypers seams to be "when in doubt, jam". But those spots come too rarely, and they are close anyway (folding vs jamming vs limping), so you don't lose that much money.

Change of plans for next week. Going to play tomorrow, and take Tuesday and Wednesday off, because I have a lot of stuff to do, including a birthday party on Tuesday evening and an exam the following morning.

Also, Wimbledon starts tomorrow. Djokovic to win?

Feeling pretty shite today. Headache, sore eyes, sleepy like I'm in school etc...

Despite that, managed some ~50 games over 2.5h. Mixture of 3.5$ and 7$ games, for a profit of 40$. Not a bad day.

Currently deep in two MTTs (445/6.6k left in 60k granted 1.1$ rebuy, and 29/550 left 3.3$ 3k granted 6max), so hoping for something to write about in a few hours :f_biggrin:

Thanks for the encouragement.

Busted out of the 60k granted one. 66<AJ for 11bb. Super-fast structure, never had more than 20bb.

15/256 remaining in the 2.2 6max one. Biggest fish in the world has position on me. And twice my stack. Going to get interesting.

While I was typing:

Just sucked out on a guy opening ~70% from CO/BU and cbetting 100%. Always this big. Jammed not to let him hit an overcard, or w/e.

Thanks for the support, but wasn't going to happen this time. Got moved to a very aggro table with the two chip-leaders on my sides. Ended up 26th for ~20$...

I've watched you... it always hurts when you get so close to the final table...
Anyway, I wish you better luck next time. Cheers!

Yeah, it does suck. But, whatever, today is another day.

I did go out on a mistake, but was too tired to play weak/tight anymore, and just upped the aggression to the max Didn't pan out.

So, as planned, I'll play no poker today. Going to buy some stuff now, get a hair-cut, eat some lunch and then go to work. I only have two hours of work today, and then have a birthday party to go to. Should be a good day.

Tomorrow, I only have an (easy) exam at 2PM, and (obviously) the game in the evening. Will try to put in a study session in the morning (pending not too drunk), and maybe a short session of poker in the afternoon.

Hey,

I've been feeling like crap since the last update. Don't know if it's working for hours in the 40 dg sun, drinking plenty of beer in the evening, or not sleeping enough (or, probably, a mixture of all), but I'm really feeling like a complete shite.

I tried playing on Thursday, which ended up me losing 15BIs in 40 games (20BIs below EV), and decided to just call it a month. My cousin came from a different city, so I'll be spending time with her, and a few other cousins and friends. A barbecue with the friends before the game tomorrow is also in the books. So a nice vacation, all in all.

I'll post a monthly review tomorrow or Monday, and re-start play from Monday, too.

June review:

In June I was close to taking a shot at the 30$ turbos again. Then it pretty much went to hell. I ran super bad the whole month:

Along with some MTTs and some zoooom, I've played for ~70 hours. Really happy about that.

Midway decided to switch to hypers again, and so far, it's not been going that great. Well, I have 7.7% EV ROI, and even if it's just the small sample, I'm confident I'm beating the 3.5$s for a healthy ROI. Given everything I've heard of the hypers' competition, I'm sure I can beat 15s, and probably even the 30s even now. With more studying, I'm going to do even better, I'm sure.

Plan for July:

It's time to do it right. 2k hypers for the month, or 500 per week is the target. That playing 5 days, and having 2 days off will be challenging, but achievable. Well, one day completely off (even will try to make it non-electronics day, more on that next days), and the second day will be a plenty-of-study-some-play day.

However, given that I've had 4 days off now, next week is all play. Next break is next Monday&Tuesday.

Hyper turbos are evil. Go play 10K of them.

Evil, but profitable. Eventually.

Welcome, but I'm afraid nothing interesting to read here. Just boring poker whining...

Anyway, a low volume day today, to get me back to playing. ~40 games, or so, with a nice profit, finally. Also watched a couple of videos, and re-read half of Mersenneary's e-book. I'm now aware how much of a fish I was when I first read it But, I guess it's nice, that I've recognized progress?

Have to do a crappy administrative thing for uni tomorrow morning. Apparently, they have no records of me paying 1/3 of my tuition, and neither do I (I've given them the only copy, and made no backups of the receipt). So I have to chase it around their bank, to find when it was processed. fml. Will, at least, try to visit my grandpa at the same trip, as he lives close to my uni...

At least I only have 2 hours of work, and should have plenty of time for poker in the evening. 1 video and at least 80 games is planned.

Good night y'all.

As it turned out, I didn't have to do that much this morning, things kinda worked themselves out. So I played a 50-game session this morning, and realized a very important thing: I suck at staying focused.

So the first thing I did this afternoon is clear my desktop of ALL things (except nash chart LDO), hid the browser in the start menu (not really hidden, but at least not in plain sight), set skype+msn to not auto-start with the windows etc... As a result, I now have a super-clean desktop, with no distractions. Also, I'm not playing music from the browser any-more, but from either AIMP or Screamer radio. Sucks not to listen to Trance around the world, but I'll get used to it :)

As for the end-result, it was not that bad. I ended the day -2BI over some 60 games, but studied some, and took a lot of notes (about both videos, and my own game).

I stopped early, because of this girl... you know...

Tomorrow, some stuff to do before work, but should have the evening all to poker. Plan is 100 games, but If I could play a bit less, but not distracted, I'd be super-pleased.

Good night.

This morning sucked. Had to do shitload of errands, and pretty much lost that part of the day. Then at work heat+sun knocked the living daylight out of me. Still, I've managed 75 games. Couldn't force myself to play that last session. Lost 5-6BIs, 9 or 10BI below EV once again.

Today makes me 70BI below EV over 1.2k games at the $3.5s. It sucks, yeah, but at least it's not at the $100s

As for the staying focused part, it wasn't a complete success. Didn't turn my phone off, and ended up texting with some friends while playing. And checked the Murray match score, too. But better than yesterday.

Tomorrow I have a day off, and just one coffee date mid-day, so plenty of time for poker. I might play some tennis myself in the afternoon (after some ~6 months, when I twisted my knee...) Going for 100-120 games, and should be able to make it without any real difficulty.

Night.
