NOBODY knows what does it mean to watch scary movie unless you have seen MARTYRS. TRUST ME. I am horror fan and have watched almost all horrors movie mentioned above but nothing is as good as MARTYRS.

Martyrs was good until the last part, when they tried to knit that spiritual theme in. It pretty much killed every last bit of credibility. It's like having the director proudly exclaim during the movie "See? It's not just torture porn!"

I love six sense. Why? Because it makes so fuxxin sense.
You kept thinking about ghost whenever you have goosebump.
Also love the japanese old school, try ugetsu monogatari it's a 1953 film.

as long as nobody says "the exorcist". always have a seriously hard time trying to find a GOOD scary film. normally you have to sacrifice good to get creepy and jumpy but sacrifice creepy and jumpy to get good.

whenever i google around for a good one its always the exorcist at #1!!! COME ON!

will refer to this thread in future

I got really freaked out by 'Event Horizon'. All those subliminal images have left me scarred for life.

Watched Friday 13th part 1 when I was like 11, maybe 12 years old, in my older bro's friends basement remember hiding under blanket half the movie.

Atmosphere of old rotting couch / dank dark basement / and getting psyched out by older teens probably induced about 50% of the fear.

IT scared me more when I read the book.

In (more recent) times, The Ring(saw japanese v way later)

The Hills Have Eyes(thinking twice about cross country road trip)

The Saw movies have been the only ones in theatre to make me squirm in my seat.

Hahaha. I quite like that. However, the real question is why in the world did you watch it anyway?

Self torture

For me, it has to be both the Paranormal Activity films. I think that it was the whole hand-held camera and the elements of realism which scared me the most.

Watched 1st and 3d. 1st was ok I guess, wasn't scary or anything but I liked the ending. The 3d one was just silly and not scary at all, even my gf laughed at it and she usually gets scared even watching thrillers. :f_ugly:

The only horror movies I enjoyed watching would be the old school Romero's zombie stuff, not rly scary either, but very interesting imo.
