Looks like you're starting to get some decent volume in.

Any overall giraffe available?

I have lost 12 BIs in a row in HUs hypers the problem and diffic is this
of course of those 12 some half complete variance and spots where
u win 80% of the time so the biggest strenght is to stay cold hearted and just try to adatp and make the right moves and keep on play.
Last 2 days i have started each session with 10-12 BIs down before yesterday
i managed to only lose 3 bis and yesterday i finished 1 BI up
In a good day i have 8-9 BIs up and the norm are good days

Today so far has gone pretty funny in general. I came home all ready to play and was thinking completly perfect for playing. I won my first 2 games with ease and then me getting CRUSHED started. I lost 9 games straight. All of these games where rough, and not in the EV way. My EV was getting totally crushed as well. I just couldn't find a way to win period. I lost every single possible way, bluffing, value betting, semi bluffing, thin value betting, 60/40s, 50/50s, 70/30s, 30/70s. I literally just could not win. Thankfully a white night from Estonia decided to save me from the bleakness that was my existance.

At the 9 loss in a row point, I ended up sitting a game against someone who had beat me during the 9 but did not rematch. The game started with him saying "Oh its the f***ing fish again". This stopped me from feeling sorry for myself and got me concentrating on crushing this poor mans soul. He kept up with the smack talk even after I called him out on declining a rematch the first time and said "I will play your fish a** all night" to which I replied "Your too much of a puss to do so". Commence the crushage.

Plus 13 BI over 26 games with 8 wins in a row to end it off. The poor guy didnt' adjust once and within 3 games I realized that if he had a hand he would showdown with he would just push pre, and if he didn't he would minraise. I 3 bet about 50% of the time and he would fold 95% of the time. I was feeling pretty down about poker, but this great man made me feel fantastic.

Anyways fruk asked for an overall graph so I'll give you all my 6max and all my hu hypers. I dont have my reg HU since the beginning on this computer. My computer that I started with reg HU on is still packed away somewhere but I know that I had +220 in ~150 games at the $15s. Heres the overall graph..

Quite the big downswing midway there. Its been a rough week or so. So hypers have supplied me with $240 profit mostly at the 3s but about 80 games at the 7s with nearly 0 profit, and $220 with the reg hu so the total is $460 which is lower than what I was hoping. Things never go exactly as planned though and sometimes we need to learn to persevere before we can become great. Anything else anyone wants to know just ask because I feel like I'm forgetting some info I could provide.

Well I think I am done with hu Hypers. I cant seem to get a foothold on a winning session ever which has been extremely frusterating. 236 games, -$10, and I have spent 2 days doing making no money. Its the same situation all over again, my edge comes deeper than what hypers allow me. Either that or I'm just terrible at poker. Either one is possible.

The new job has given me a ton of stability in my financial life. This has something to do with me trying to find a game where I can make LOTS of money but I then need a game where I can develope LOTS of edge.

So wierd this poker game. I played some HU FLHM, won a few big bets, and got bored. I looked over the lobby. Nothing appealed. I literally didn't see a game I wanted to play that I could beat.

So I went over my hand histories. Then I came back into this blog. Hmm 16 BI up in 80 games. Thats pretty good considering its the highest stakes in all my games.... Did I enjoy them? Yup. What reason have I not been playing them? Dont have my database. Thats going to stop me playing? It has been. Should I let it now? Ahh na

Well after that, I played 6 HU turbs, 5-1 at the $15s. The other nice thing is $15s are like 30 minutes pay for me at work, so everytime I win one I feel a bit of accomplishment more so than any other stake lower.

I wonder if this will satisfy me. I seem to be a completely unsatisfied poker playing whiner lately but I think I just wanna be happy.

Blog name changed. Here's why.

So I've been really bored with the micros. There's not enough at stake. I can't find my A game half the time only for the pure reason that poker at the micros means nothing but enjoyment. I decided I'm give myself 2 stacks at nl50 hu to see what I thought of it.

6 hands in I'm dealt ATo on the button, bet and get raised and I call. AT9 is the flop and he leads into me, I 3b and he jams. I call. He has 99.

K standard. Very next hand. I have Jh9h. I smooth and see ThQdKd. I check raise and he 3 bets. I smooth and the then is 8h. I check and he shoves and I snap. He flips over AJo. River 2c.

That was my 2 stacks in 7 hands. Then I got to thinking. What if I make a crazy brm and try and move my way up to 200s husngs. I will play 20 games a day and I will start at the 30s. Brm is this. 25 bi for the next level. Move up. 20 bi. Move down.

Yes this is super aggro but it will be fun to read about and it will be exilerating. I plan to be at the 200s by January 28!

Haha well the thing is I make really good money at my job. I've said this before but in order for poker to be valuable to me profit wise it needs to make an impact On my financial situation it has to be at a bigger level than the micros. Moving up slowly would be good and safe but boring. I read stories about guys like isildur who started with 200 bucks and played 50 dollar sngs. Yes they are lucky they didn't busto but tht kind of risk allowed them the reward they get now (although tanking 1m in the last week isn't much reward).

I've been brought up my whole life to be risk averse. The thought process is deeply ingrained. This can be very helpful in a lot of situations. Not skipping school and therefore getting good grades. Not taking drug an alcohol risks. Not putting my life in danger seeking thrills. These are all good things. Where this doesn't help is in the financial sector where calculated risks mean great reward. I've studied commodity trading and currency trading and the only reason I don't use that knowledge I've obtained is because of the volatility. I played 1/3 nl live cen though I was rolled for 2/5 and at some points even 5/10 just because 1/3 was safe. I've used safe passive investment tools (excluding one case where I invested in a property development company and a year in the company made the brilliant decision of divesting thenselfs of thier proven money makers and investing in European energy right before the market crash).

So then this is where I try and make a change. I'm safe with everything. Why not try and be a little risky and go for a big score?

I can understand it if u have a confort winn rate atm
still i dont really think its optimal to do it ofc there r 1000 ways to move up
and i feel a more agressiv aproach is ok but within certain parameters
i would not use isildur as an example cuz he is an exception +dont forget imo
hes a pure gambler who has the biggest downsings ever seen
and dont be surprised if 1 day hes out of the game )

This is hu hypers, right?

I, for one, fully support such crazy plans. I'm doing something similar (but less crazy) with 40 up, 35 down.

Just be prepared to move down quickly, and you'll be fine.

And you could take it a bit slower when you reach the 60s/100s.

GL, will definitely follow :)

I had an odd thing happen yesterday.

I got together with a friend who I have been playing poker with since I started. We where talking about his poker career and his backer for large tournaments. He asked how I was doing and I let him know my plans. He didn't say much but we planned to spend the day together grinding.

So after a few hours I was down some bis and was kinda wondering out loud if I was ever going to make it as a hu nlhm player. After a few rants he asked me an odd question. Is your goal to make money or have fun? I said make money. His response. "Why are u fing around with games that arnt your strongest game".

This comment stunned me. I responded saying I think it's my best game online. He said no it isn't, you've always been a fixed limit machine and you should be playing hu online.

Fixed limit? So boring. So little volume. So much math and so little "feel". It's not flashy. It's not coveted.

But wait. Am I good at math? Hmm, I got honors in it in school. Is there enough volume to sustain an income? Maybe. Does it relieve me of my issue of losing more big pots than winning big pots? Yes.

He said, trust me. Just try. So I did. I tried with all my might. I played where I could get action. .5/1. 1/2. 2/4. Results? 800 hands, 71 big bets. 200 dollars. * he might be right.

Against all good reasoning I spent the last 3 days grinding nl6max. After 10k hands I'm completely break even. It ended with me running top boat into quads 400bb deep. Why did I stop playing FL? Cuz I'm stupid and I got bored. I lost the ability to value every minor decision that makes FL what it is.

So after a wasted 3 days I decided to get back to FL. 4 tabling FL 1/2. I wanted to start building a database of players to see how weak the limit was. I am rolled for it with 300 BBs (lost some of my bankroll with some bads days previous to me starting to play FL).

Heres how the day went.

As you can see I basically destroyed the tables. The key to me being successful is twofold.

1) Be VERY aggressive. Its the only way to win in FL.
2) Literally use my brain for decisions. A lot of the time I dont use my brain and just use my heart. This has cost me lots of money and its my biggest weakness not just in poker but in life.

I disagree with this, if your goal is to make as much money as possible you should choose game where it is, like if your strongest game is HU turbos why keep playing them if hypers has all the fishes and money? Ton of regs was forced to swich games.

Atm imo hypers has most fishes and most easy money. And people talking that plo also now is very profitable.

There are a ton of fish playing FL even up to the 3/6 level. I haven't played 5/10 yet but I cant believe some of the plays that are being made at 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6.

Also giving up edge to play with fish means your just less of a fish for the real regs to exploit. If you switch any game you have a large learning curve.

Plo might be an option for me but I really have no FIRM basis on which to base a strategy. The resources for PLO are limited and although I can play the game fine I still have a huge leak when it comes to overvaluing middle sets and second nut hands. Usually this takes place in the form of a 3 barrel calldown with all the chips being sent across the table and me wondering how they can have it everytime. I would need to put a ton of study into PLO before I picked it up.

On the other hand, I know my FL. If I could build my self control more than in the past I know I can crush it.

Also anyone know any good PLO recourses? Never hurts to learn multiple games. A standard line in one game is innovative in another and innovation makes the most money.

I'm on a sweet b.e. stretch right now because of ..... Me. Im playin 2-4 tables of 1/2 and I'm making bonehead mistakes but for some reason I always have that feeling of getting te wool pulled over my eyes and make light call downs. It's really frusterating when you call all streets against a donk because you have tp 4th kicker and he's barreling. You know he's usually just a calling station but this time he's aggro. So you call down to see tptk.

I don't really know the steps to correct this. Sometime I sit down and I'm a compete beast and make grade A decisions. The test of the time I sit down and make B-C decisions. I can't differentiate the difference between my mindset in each case, so I don't know how to correct this.

As for PLO. I played a few hundred hands and won a few buyins. The shame of the matter is that I should have made 3-4 more buyins than the 2 I made as I had won them already and then proceeded to make terrible blunders to give them back.

First world problems.

So here is my graph for 2000 $3.50 Hyper 6 Max SnGs. 5.4% RoI over 76.3 hours. Low hourly but that should be fixed once I move up. Its amazing to me how much these hypers are like trading stocks or forex. Just make proper decisions and you have a small edge. Push that edge over and over within a bankroll and you'll eventually make some money.

I dunno what my goals are pokerwise. I'd like to get another 1500 games in this month but I dont know what my time will line up like. I have a baby on the way in 1.5 months and some training at my new job next week which will take up some time.

The reason I went back to hypers is because of me getting my setup back in order at my new place. 2 monitors makes 12 tabling sets very easy and the only time it gets overwhelming is when I go deep in too many :f_cool:

Anyways off to bed hope everyone is doing well.
