Ok so not quite what the hand chart tell you to do but I figured this was worth it in the long run against players like this?

Hand chart tells me to fold in late position v a call. I was getting 3:1 pot odds vs 2:1 hand odds so should be ok and reckoned i could lay down the hand pretty easily if needed.

On the flop I think i had good enough odds to call? 4:1 pot odds and equilab shows I had 40% equity which is 2.5:1? Plus I'd made a weak pair with a decent kicker.

Turn puts a straight on there but unlikely and makes a flush less likely so I just check behind to keep a small pot. River seemed harmless. But equilab shows my odds as getting worse throughout the hand from 29% to 24%. So I'm not really sure what to make of it...

Hello Vtec9k,

Preflop: Rather isolate those hands instead playing them in multiway pot. Those hands put you more often into difficult decision.

As played
Postflop: To avoid exactly those spots that you start to call-down and rather lose in long run money fold it preflop or take initiative on you. There ain't even that many hands what you have beat but though for the given odds shouldn't be of course that huge mistake to call-down.

Best Regards.

Cool thanks Veriz. So raise preflop would be better or just fold because you're right it did put me in a difficult decision the whole hand

Would i then re-raise a small bet or fold according to opponent?
