thanks guys

today graph:

Spoiler

things went a bit better than yesterday, both in terms of running better and playing quality. :f_biggrin:
i still rate both areas with a B- though

the points where the red line starts nosediving may or may not be the points where i play my D-game, i'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence. :f_biggrin:

third hand of the session:

PokerStars - $0.25 NL ZOOM - Holdem - 9 players

MP+1 wins $48.35

did i already say that i run awful when it comes to kings into aces?
i even wonder if people are 3bet/folding or 4bet/folding KK vs me, it can't be possible to run so much KK into AA without enough AA into KK to make up... ohwait, it can :f_biggrin:

that said, of course there are some facepalm D-game hands too:

PokerStars - $0.25 NL ZOOM - Holdem - 9 players

UTG+1 shows J♠ Q♠ (Three of a Kind, Jacks) (Pre 63%, Flop 74%, Turn 84%)
UTG+1 wins $23.70

how to play it better: flop stab is pretty standard, but definitely check behind the turn.
when he c/c flop i put him on something like 33, JJ+ and some random fds.

the problems are: all his draws are better than mine, i may already be drawing dead and overpairs that went for way ahead/way behind are not folding either. i can't pot the river either because he can easily put me on missed fd, so 3barrel float is absolutely awful

of course i never put him on the hand that he had, wa/wb with a good enough Jx? really?
but i guess it works when villain is a spaztard :f_biggrin:

hand that brought ev line closer to actual winnings:

Flop: ($9.69, 3 players) 5♣ 6♥ 3♦
Hero bets $4.99, UTG+2 raises to $33.98 and is all-in, fold, ...
villain is running something ridiculous like 50/50 over 10 hands

Hero calls $16.94 and is all-in

Hero shows A♠ A♥ (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 82%, Flop 11%)
UTG+2 shows 3♠ 3♣ (Three of a Kind, Threes) (Pre 18%, Flop 89%)

didn't have a very good day unfortunately :P

Spoiler

Spoiler

felt like they say about "someday you'll run worse than you ever thought possible"

it almost felt like they could see my cards, my won when saw flop % was an abysmal 31%.
couldn't hit anything at all when it mattered, people minraising turns against my top pair, i felt sick

Spoiler

one of the straights was with reversed implieds because other guy was on the nut gutter. FML

nowadays i have some willpower to quit such awful sessions, but today i couldn't because i have a freaking damn volume goal and i'm getting my daily goals.
so yeah, i got it. :f_biggrin: not sure if i'm proud of myself

of course the level of play was MUCH less than optimal as i pushed through pretty much all types of tilt.
i think that about full $50 could be saved, but whatevs~

ironically there was no KK into AA. i even got AA into KK once!

random tilt hand:

Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players - View hand 1920691
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN: $25.00
SB: $12.50
BB: $33.62
UTG: $22.60
UTG+1: $25.25
UTG+2: $30.00
Hero (MP1): $51.35
MP2: $51.66
CO: $12.72

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is MP1 with Q :diamond: Q
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.69, 1 fold, CO calls $0.69, 2 folds, BB calls $0.44
co is a fish, bb is a very nitty bad reg

Flop: ($2.17) 2 :diamond: 2 :spade: 2 :club: (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.42, CO calls $1.42, BB calls $1.42

Turn: ($6.43) T :diamond: (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3.31, CO calls $3.31, BB raises to $6.62, Hero calls $3.31

he reps 4 combos (A2s/TT), but he has it ALL the time
anyway at this point CO disconnects and we are left hanging for about 5 minutes while stars gives him time to reconnect

BB says "can you beat ace 10?"

he obviously NEVER plays AT like that (that tricky wording tho, i know that's not what he said)
since i already was on so much tilt i actually felt like punching him through the monitor

Hero says "i should have folded", BB says "99?", Hero says "no", CO folds

River: ($22.98) 8 :diamond: (2 players)
BB SNAPchecks, Hero says "AT huh?", Hero says "lets find out", Hero checks

Final Pot: $22.98
BB shows T :club: T  (a full house, Tens full of Deuces)
Hero mucks Q :diamond: Q
BB wins $21.95
(Rake: $1.03)

ofc i was being fully honest.
i wonder if he took my words as evidence that i had quads, else he would certainly make a stupid low bet on the river which i would tiltcall obv

ZOMG i feel the pressure of what Jared calls "accumulated emotion", i couldn't even bring myself to start the session.
i don't have any plan for this post so i'll just start to type and find something to get me to keep pushing and put in these 3-4k hands today

i feel like i should seek some answers on his book (highly recommended!)

also feel like i should type out some paragraphs to help me rationalize something, so here goes:

Spoiler

This “accumulated emotion” or emotional baggage is the toughest part of the mental game to improve. The reason is that you have to contend with the emotion created today from losing, mistakes, or running hot, plus you have to contend with the lingering emotion created by these issues over time. When set off, the intensity is so strong that it quickly overwhelms your mind and your ability to remain in control; so you instantly tilt, mentally freeze in a big pot, or believe you’re a poker god. The only way you can stay in control at that time is by doing work off the table to reduce accumulated emotion.

this is TRUTH. unfortunately there is not enough time to do work off the table right now :P

now for another excerpt that comes shortly after:

Spoiler

The better you can recognize when emotion accumulates, the better you can take action to prevent it from crossing the threshold and remain in total emotional control. Here’s an example of how emotion builds along a spectrum: A player might have some uncertainty after a rough, losing day, unsure if he played badly or if it was just variance. Then, after a few more days of constantly running into the top end of players’ ranges, he begins to doubt if he’s making the right plays. He starts to hesitate, second-guess decisions, go against his gut, and make mistakes. Then, anxiety starts showing up in bigger pots, because he’s afraid of making a mistake. Eventually, these mistakes do happen because his mind is malfunctioning. Now, with bad play mixed into the bad run, anxiety starts to build before even sitting down to play. Simply thinking about playing is enough to spark anxiety. Over time, what started as uncertainty has turned into a strong fear of losing.

my feelings EXACTLY

so what can i do about it to push myself for some very short-term motivation (four days)?
let's put the small picture (this month nl25):

Spoiler

into the big picture (nl25 lifetime):

Spoiler

i have a fair sample, my game has improved a lot since the first 30k hands, i can crush this limit. hell, this is even one limit under my now-regular limit
play the +EV moves, don't be afraid of failing, ride out the variance.

i also have sticked a piece of paper in my monitor saying "take a deep breath".
that should help for now :f_biggrin:

LAUNCH TABLES!!

Ouch this graph looks troubling! I totally understand how you feel man. I sometimes fight with accumulated feelings also.

Luckily for me, I read a lot of books about trading that actually somehow broken this shit inside me and now I´m feeling much more resistant to this AND to tilt.

I hope that it will be out soon and - just go and launch the session!!! Fingers crossed for you!!!!!!!¨

Good Luck!

Do you use any training sites other than this ??

I am not asking for names here as they would just remove it. A simple sentence like yes I use other sites or no I don't use other training sites would suffice and maybe a little bit on what useage you do. Like 50/50 in here and others etc.

thank you sir

time for the monthly recap!

this one will be even more interesting. this was an interesting month in a lot of ways, except shipping monies where i ran awful

Spoiler

goals:

[x] achieve platinum status retake - you see that! second time is the charm indeed
[x] ???? - !!!!
[x] PROFIT! - -$16.62 in actual tables profit, $265.38 in EV. i'll consider it a success though for two reasons, EV bucks and a stars $50 VIP stellar reward bonus which actually puts me on the green for the month

if we break down the month by limits it gets more interesting

nl100:

Spoiler

took a shot, it ended with a super terrible traumatizing day with variance raping me in the ass
that said, i don't think i have a good edge (if any) on the limit and the better regs and supernova elites soul own me. so yeah, step up my game while i build roll on nl50-

nl50:

Spoiler

played and ran okay but EV raped me in the ass
then took a break, ZOMG i am way behind schedule gogo chase volume mindlessly on nl25

nl25:

Spoiler

played and ran good, then variance AND EV raped me hard in the ass, then i played quite worse than usual because of accumulated tilt but/and because of that they kept raping me in the ass, but ran better last friday+ which were some pretty good days actually

i call "variance" the general runbad/rungood that happens like KK into AA, unbelievable runouts and such things that don't show up in the EV line.
EV is just how good we do when we ship the monies.

bonus graph: random spaz limits 4fun

Spoiler

not much to comment

i'm also well aware that all paragraphs aren't being written in very good written form. i don't really care

so... heh, let's talk about other stuff, there was already too much rape talk in this post which is quite discomforting.
which good things happened?

i'm happy to have tested the waters at nl100, and to have been assigned as a hand judge for nanostakes. i've also improved enough overall.
i'm somewhat satisfied with how i managed to push through a tough run and continue playing... not that satisfied with how i handled it, but i didn't quit which was good.
also all this runbad made me actually work on my mental game, even though i still have quite a lot of issues. asked for help on which i think is the most critical one :f_biggrin:

i think there are more things, but i can't remember. so well...

october goals:

[ ] maintain 2500 monthly strategypoints
[ ] intangibles (learn something from platinum+ material and improve mental game)
[ ] ????
[ ] PROFIT!

GO!
