I once dreamt about poker, it was pretty funny too, but my poker table was kinda transcendental.

In my dream I was waiting for the bus when I saw a bar. I walked into the bar and I saw a poker tournament going on there, my father was in one of the tables, so I thought: "Nice, fishy table, buy-me-in". When I sat at the table someone said to me "this tournament is kinda fast, blinds go up every 10 seconds.

When I heard that I got kinda angry but I said "ok, still have some edge, lets play" - looking at my hand to find aces staring at me.

"All in" - I said. Got called by an old man and my father. When I peaked at my cards again, they had changed, the aces weren't there anymore, I had 27o, then I said "fucking bad beats" and left the table. My dream ended there.

evaluation: raise flop!
as played on the turn i should also raise bigger to protect and commit the shorty, i thought about keeping QJ/KJ in ?( but they'll have trouble calling any raise anyway, so the range that he calls will be more towards draws.
river really sucks but standard, can't fold while fishy guy can have enough spaz combos  (fold if btn raises because he'll have KJ), results is :rage:

the joys of playing an underlimit and c-gaming
[second superlate edit: now i clearly see how badly i screwed up this hand   lol riverspot, obv should never have got in such a spot in the first place]

variance gives (one day too late though):

yeah, that was cute.
i didn't want to see that exact flop, but else almost everything went according to plan (better if btn flat$$$), would be fml if utg flats but i had a feeling he would ship it :P

Lord. Is this what zoom fr has become? Considering to protect the nut boat and make him fold all his spazzy hands so we dont get sucked out on. If he is NEVER folding - then u actually cant make him fold anyway.
Had to laugh at the quoted part. As for the rest - most enjoyable blog I have seen out there. Keep it up and congrats on the diamond - u deserved that bro.

zoom fr has ALWAYS been like that, you know...

...these were not some totally serious comments :P
anyway for a more serious evaluation:

preflop: in position vs fish minr with nut sooted, don't remember who was behind but anyway i obv like to at least see a flop in this spot.
may be a fold with good aggro squeezers behind though

flop: it's somewhat suspicious that he checks this flop, so i go for way ahead/way behind two streets of betting

turn: raising is debatable but i think his line is more towards Ax and i just want max value from that.
better to raise turn/bet river than to just raise the river when he may not shove over and then we get quite less money in the pot.

when he 3bets it's just that there almost never are spazzy hands in his range, this line of delay-cbet such a board and min3bet by fish is NEVER a bluff.
and if neither of us are ever folding and i have the best hand right now, there's no real reason to not just go ahead and protect shove as i expect him to have a better ace a lot of the time :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

of course in practice it doesn't really matter since i am also never folding... you'd have to actually try hard to misplay this hand the way the action went, but here we have a choice between a good line and the best line so :P

in any case this hand got me back to remember how these very bad fish do their level 0 thinking, i forget that sometimes ;(

update: i'm well aware of the lack of updates and LOL nl10 :f_love: but as you frequent readers may know i'm taking this month off and just fooling around.
next month i'll be back on schedule :f_biggrin: also maybe some volume challenge or something

i just noticed that i wrote "almost never" and "never" in the same sentence there.

i really just wanted to say "never", but you know, liability protection

there will be no monthly recap this month as i decided to take the month off :f_biggrin:

or we could make it really short, like, i made some $100 playing nl10- for lulz (talk about playing ONLY for fun and still being able to make something out of it!), cashed out a ton (like $600?) to spend on nice things and help my parents :f_biggrin:, enjoyed the diamond content, and well that's it i guess :f_love:

now after such a lazy month i feel ready to crush the games again (...or not)
due to my massive volume i have a nice not-so-shiny pokerstars silverstar status which i'll proudly display because it makes me an obvious fish.

so... what there is for november?
i have identified that i went from the chase-losses phase to the quitting too much phase.

in the chase-losses phase i'd continue a lot of sessions up to a win until i got even or they ended up quite badly, ie -4bi to worse. i don't think i played super badly during these phases but it was also not B-game either.
nowadays... if i begin the session by losing some 3bet pots, i quit. if i begin by winning some 3bet pots, i quit. if... eh, i quit.
that allows me to play A-game a higher % of the time, but i put much less time in.

then... what do i want to do about it?
i'm setting up a volume challenge, this month i want to be playing 100k hands of zoom nl25+ and finishing it in profit before applying bonuses. HELL YEAH
this is also a way to develop some mental game muscle by... well, i'd write some babble, but you are all smart enough to understand my point given what i just wrote above.

i'll also be taking prop bets on it! 1:1 odds, $20 minimum. wonder if there'll be any takers?
will be posting daily (or close) updates starting from day 5.

november goals:

[ ] VOLUME VOLUME
[ ] ????
[ ] PROFIT!

GO!

..also, i'll probably be changing my avatar sometime in the next days just for the sake of RENOVATION!
i may or may not take suggestions

is fr zoom25 REALLY that bad that a good way to go is to just keep folding everything on to your way to success, nevermind that it's superexploitable?

i'll leave you some hands still

Good luck with the challenge! Can make a $20 prop bet for yours too if you fancy it?

I'd say that nitty players always win in Zoom, there's just so many hands in hour and that way so much more chances to play for stacks with premium :))

so i was thinking at night, why do i lose playing looser and win with the exploitable nit retard style on nl25?

- prolonged zoom 4tables is a bit of action so it's not too easy to focus on marginal spots, which means they turn into slightly -EV for me, which adds up
- everyone else is also a nit retard
- but i valuebet better
- i also fold better

= edgez! :f_biggrin:

should i be thankful that the club came otherwise i'd drop my entire stack?

as it went, fold the river?
maybe i should, but it's fish, insane pot odds -> he could be blockbetting worse

who cares, i am so damn annoyed but in any case i'll keep up the propbet offer because i have faith
i'll post the monthly graph to encourage takers:

Spoiler

propbet rules: at least 100k hands this month, 1:1 odds, $20 minimum, nl25+ only, i must end in profit
