Nah, you can ban me pokerstrategy, 4eva bronze
Being an accountant I can say this:
When you buy a company you buy his assets and his liabilities.
Pokerstars saying that he does not think he has to pay his liabilities is wrong.
If the contract with PS and FT had a determine date they have to respect it until the date it expire.
For me Poker stars is just being "smart" and buying full tilt with lower cost.
bah just my 2c.
But they said they will restructure their affiliate program on early Year 2013 so hope is not gone?
Gud luck Poker star !!! Make a deal with zynga and create the biggest poker room ever with 30% rakeback =p

Rakeback is such an annoying illusion. Most winning players rake way more than they're winning and I refuse to believe that like one-fifth of that wouldn't be enough to run a major pokersite.
Even then, the sad thing is that probably most people would rather choose a current flat rakeback site over a site with really low rake.
Maine reason for Stars to take control on Tilt was to block someone else entering the market whit huge player pool and great software. Whit this they even making difficult for another big company to enter(Zynga, etc). So i was thinking that they will try to keep old costumers because attracting new ones whit a brand name of "Full Tilt" its impossible at least for some long time :), but this move really confuse me, what are they thinking to run a poker site just whit high stake regulars and nosebleeds. They still need return on there investment.
My point is all fishes and casual players from PS (including me) ho try to improve there game, wont play on FT , and total fishes don't know and don't care ho has control on FT now, they just know that FT stole players money!!!
I don't know is this de-tracking is legal or not i just know that they got 500k player on there site because of PS, and that creates a bed image for them. There will be time (whit legalization in US , new poker boom, etc) when Poker Stars and FT will need affiliate's again.
So i don't think that FT will be the same as before Black Friday, I think that for a long time games will be toff and the player pool smaller, sure there will be high stakes games in the beginning but that will end soon, and then back on Poker Stars!!!
P.S. This is just my opinion and i am no expert in this maters>
My English is so bad so if i am not making sense to you don't troll me pleas !
Come on! What were you guys expecting? That FT will be relaunched, and there will be business as usual. Great bonuses, rakeback, tracking etc.
You are asking: why aren,t they returning the same bonuses they used to have before Black Friday? And I,m answering by saying: why would they?
Remember, the market situation post BF has changed quite dramatically.
Why, as a company, would PS bring back those bonuses?
To attrackt new players? They already have all the players!
To fight the competition? What competition? Before BF there were two big ones - PS and FT, who were pretty equal in size, followed by Party.
Now we have only PS and some small bugs around it. Do you think that Microgaming or Party or the iPoker with its crappy software are scaring them?
Only hope is that Zynga will bring some relief in that sense. Off course then and if it ever launches. At least we get our bankroll back.
I,ll guess that,s just me, trying to see a ray of light in the biggest poker related shitstorm of all time.
As a businessman I can,t blame PS, as a pokerplayer I f**king hate this!

As for Rakeback, isn't that even more complicated since players tracked through Pokerstrategy have a contract with Pokerstrategy regarding the monthly RB payments?
I quite agree with this...
When signing up on FTP through PS affiliation link, I somehow signed a contract with PS.
=> PS owe me 27% rakeback on the rake I generate on FTP.
The way PS manages to get this money is not my problem I would say...
I have to say I find the statement by PokerStrategy to be shockingly misleading. They do not explain the situation honestly at all.
Let's put this simply. PokerStrategy made an affiliate deal with the old owners of Full Tilt, who are Pocket Kings.
PokerStars company 'The Rational Group' bought the assets of Full Tilt after it was seized by the DOJ. They bought the player database, the website, and the rights to use the FTP name. But they did not buy the company.
This means they are not bound by any contracts, which are nothing to do with them at all! And they are not responsible for any debts of the previous company. PokerStars have not failed to honour affiliate agreements. They were never a party to them!
This is why PokerStrategy are trying to sue the old owners of Full Tilt, who are Pocket Kings, not the current owners PokerStars.
If PokerStars had been required to pay every debt of the previous company, the value of FTP would have been much lower. Perhaps so low there wouldn't have been enough funds to pay players.
PokerStrategy were already paid massive amounts of money for their players anyway, while the old FTP was in existence. The lifetime revenue model system is a crazy model, where a poker site has to keep playing massive amounts of money to affiliates for players acquired years ago.
As for the $50 that PokerStrategy gave to players, I would expect this was funded by Full Tilt in the first place as part of a CPA/rev-share deal.
Of course affiliates like PokerStrategy are going to complain, because the gravy train is over. But don't think they will give you an honest explanation.
Sry for my lazyness but only pokerstrategy got de-tracked or ALL affiliates got de-tracked?

not to my knowledge, we still get the rakeback but its not "exclusive" anymore like the old FTP, we used te get 27% rb EXTRA compare to normal users

Hi JonikoP,
us granting StrategyPoints without an underlying affiliate agreement would be the same as Full Tilt relaunching without charging any rake.
We are business with significants costs and emplyoees to pay, and cannot work for free.
If Full Tilt will agree not to charge any rake for PokerStrategy.com players, we will happily provide our services for free as well.
Best regards,
Dominik

Yes no more 27% rakeback but up to 25% global rakeback without affiliate.
the UP TO is the thing that makes me small stake player scared >_<

This month's hot topic. Since it's easier to post my opinion only one time, I will do it here:
We should stick to the facts. Tiltware Inc, RedKings Ltd etc etc etc have been former legal entities which managed the brand FullTiltPoker and all its contracts (like affiliation contracts). There are 2 main forms of mergers and acquisitions. I don't know the deals' details, but we have to assume Rational Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Stars) only bought a few assets and didn't buy all the legal entities aka singular succession. One part of the deal was to pay back player's bankrolls. But it seems like the affiliation contracts haven't been part (and obv for good business reasons we have to assume). FTPnew will save more money not working with affiliates (or under different terms from Q2 2013+) than they gain from it, it's mostly a bigger math example to solve.
Yes, the brand FullTiltPoker and the software is the same, but nothing else. They could have offered the same affiliation program, or even a new one or - like they do now - none. Seems absolutely legit to me.
If there is anybody to blame, it's Tiltware Inc, RedKings Ltd and all the other companies involved in this huge mess and all the managers involved! Not the company on the Isle of Man though that just made a strategic investment. Definitely thrilling times for lawyers on both Rational and PStrategy side. I would love to read the term sheets of the initial deal, but I'm afraid nobody is going to show me. For personal benefits as a player, I hope Pokerstrategy finds a little hole in the legal sheets and we get our rake races, points and Rb back - I highly doubt it though. As for Rakeback, isn't that even more complicated since players tracked through Pokerstrategy have a contract with Pokerstrategy regarding the monthly RB payments? This money has never been paid by FTP, but by PS .... So a player cannot claim RB from FTP but only from Pokerstrategy's part of their affiliation commission. But since this commission doesn't get paid anymore, we are fu**ed.
Ofc it hurts us as players. FTP and PP have always been my main sites. It's likely I will play mostly FTP next months, so I lose all monthly points and all BlackMemberParties
Ofc it hurts PokerStrategy since a huge revenue stream is gone. However, what's the point in whining? Mindset anyone? We have to deal with a new situation imo. As far as I am concerned, I have a choice to make. I can get my money back and don't have to play a single hand on their site if I feel treated in an unfair way. Nobody has to play on FTP. Im glad I get my moniez back, but it's not my right to tell this company to give me e.g. 48% flat RB just because it would be nice or 27% just because "it's always been that way". It doesn't matter what has been, it only matters what will be. From reading the news and the forums (english and german) it feels like everyone is just complaining. That's not how winning is done, ask Rocky!! Why are we not looking how to make the very best out of this new situation? Isn't that what a poker school should teach us? Yes we have (all) been put into unfavorable situations ... so what? I'm definitely not wasting my time crying. Everyone should just make the best out of it and keep the complaints low. Especially since we don't know details how it will all develop in the mid-term.
I really hope Party.Bwin/Zynga/Ipoker will form a strong entity one day. Otherwise Rational Entertainment will control the entire Poker market one day. There are probably worse poker-world-dominators out there (e.g. former FTP board of directors) but a monopoly can never be beneficial for the majority of the market participants.
The moral of the post: we should look for solutions, not flame! One solution can be to cashout and play on other sites, one can be to just write e-mails to support@ftp and one can be to not play on Stars anymore (as it would also hurt the mother company). Or we just choose to not care and continue playing on FTP since they will offer a pretty good service I assume. Solutions > Problems imo!
posts like this are why I love following your new blog TT

And if full tilt does indeed get more fishy then other sites then obviously everyone's going to play there. All in all the players really don't lose that much here. Yeah it sucks to lose the status here but really that doesn't give me nearly enough benefits to even consider not playing there. Being able to play on both sites for the best game selection is far superior then watching some vids here.
The only one losing big here is pokerstrategy.com since a lot of the current regs will go back to FTP so thats going to be a big drop of income and it seems like they can't do anything about it.
People who play at the stakes that you are and put in the volume that you do I believe that you don't care much about PokerStrategys videos and such. But for those lower stakes players like me who still can improve their game a lot that learning material means quite a bit. At the stakes where I'm playing table selection is not a problem and I can honestly say that this latest development is a deal breaker for me. I was going to play on FT for sure but now I will have to play somewhere else just so I can get my gold status.
+1 this is my opinion too thanks zobupasts ![]()

I might get flamed pretty hard for this but this is definitely good for the poker ecosystem. There is a bubble that has to burst, Pokerstrategy pumped in too many average/rakeback regs (I used to be one of them) as less rec players deposited and the ratio just got too high. Starting at 0% rb is definitely a good thing and will discourage people from giving poker a serious shot and attract a better ratio. Lower rakeback will kill off a few of the weaker ones which would greatly help the strong pros that make a higher % then they rake. It may seem like a hard reality but I cant see this as anything but a good thing for the future. That being said I love pokerstrategy and this is a bit of a scummy thing that fulltilt did to them but they have no play so its kind of coming off as whining. We are playing a selfish game so its not like they can influence many players. There is little they can do to improve there market share but its understandable that they try. I hope this is not the nail in the coffin Ive noticed a steep decline in the english community.

Agreed, Party Poker must be loving this.
Yes. Party is great with their 5% rb or w/e.
