@tomzyb - thanks man, sorry to overwhelm you with all theese blog posts since you posted :)

@DeLau - thanks, Monza was great :) And my PhD is going fine. I got a seminar to teach this semester so that's quite fun so far. Gongratz on your recent poker and live success _thumbsup: How are these Unibet midstakes treating you?

@kurabiika - sure man, I'll drop you a line.

Long time, no update, sorry _mad: Laziness is the story of my life but the good thing is it somehow doesn't affect poker too much and I'm still putting in volume. After questionable August I had pretty rough September and October. Managed to break even/small profit through rakeback but the game itself was sick. Especially in October when I played mostly on new site and managed to drop 1.4k euros. My first 3 sessions there are was also my 3 biggest losing sessions so far :) Luckily for me the rackeback is sick and with the FDB it pretty much covered that so there is no hole in my bankroll right now. Also won 100$ in PS rake race by becoming the 10th biggest raking machine at that site. _love: This month started pretty good (yes, still checking the cashier every 5 minutes or so :f_biggrin: ). Will post some graphs but now I gotta go.

Oh, one last thing. I'm going to the diamand event in Viena this month so if anyone else is going we can meet there.

September and October for the graph junkies :) I'm not usually a big fan of public self humiliation but here you go:

September

October

:f_cry: :f_cry: :f_cry:

November better be a hell of a month...

Finally an update! :f_biggrin:

I'm not at midstakes yet, plan is to be there within a year. Atm still at nl100.

If those graphs are from terrible months, a lot of $$$ is waiting for you in the good months. :)

Glad to hear to PhD is treating you well, I 'm currently writing 2 papers and I truly hate it. :(

Ok, than tinypic it is starting from next month.

Had a fun session last night where I was losing a bit but then it was turned around by a titled monkey that shoved 62s over my 3bb open with AA. 3-4 hands later he limped, got isolated by reg, I 3bet AA and he shoved again with AJo :f_love: :f_love: :f_love: Too bad it was anon tables so I don't know who he is.

Speaking of these I trully hate them. Anon tables are the majority of the tables running and people go absolutely berzerk, taking crazy lies all the time. I'm not exception btw _cry: It tilts the shit out of me when they start c/raising turns and rivers and stuff and I'm starting to call very light which sucks. I discovered interesting situations where I call down in 3bet pot with some shity pair and win but feel really bad about the play because I know it brings me no longterm info on the opponent and just makes me paranoid that people do crazy things at anon tables which leads to light calls from me.

Also in the last few months I'm really unhappy with my mindset. I catch myself thinking way too much about why my hands doesn't hold, why my weaker opponents always have it against me, why my monsters never get paid and crap like that. Should maybe finish The Poker Mindset - left it at around 2/3.

hi... i see your point.. i really cant imagine myself being on these tables... one doesnt have any idea if his play is +ev or its just spew :f_confused:.

but i mean microgaming is pretty big site so... is there really that bad traffic at normal tables? 50/100/200 SH? 6 tables in any hour of the day is too optimistic by me? :(

Traffic at NL100 is not bad, however if you want to cut out the anon tables completely it will be difficult because there are no waiting lists and it could take a lot of time to find a spot. I play 6 tabs myself and 3-4 of them are usually anon ones. For me it seems there is no way around that. Also around 3-4 AM (UTC+2) it is sometimes difficult to fill up 6 tabs with both normal and anon so you have to swallow them.

Last night I had a DO'H session that costed me good part of my winnings for the month. I felt really annoyed about things I had no control over. Some consecutive standard setups in my favor went the wrong way - nothing interesting really, so I'm not going to post these bad boys but...

This brought me to a decision to challange myself with NO LOOKING AT RESULTS untill the end of the month. So that's 2 weeks and usually I can hardly manage 2 minutes :f_biggrin: Already removed the result stats from HM2. It will be the first step of working on my mindset and trying to get each hand out of the context of the given session. Never tried that before, will see what it brings me. My minimum goal is that I should still be able to autoreload by the end of November :f_biggrin:

Wow, wonder if you 'll manage. I 'm not even gonna try, I would just never make it :f_biggrin:.

I also don't think watching my results has a big influence on my game/mindset.

Heheh... you might be right... poker is mocking me _cry: I'm 99% sure that I just finished the best session in my poker career. Can't look and see _cry: My challange is starting off in a very challenging way indeed.

Here is a little something from today, anon tables, of course.

Prima, $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

CO: $112.53 (112.5 bb)

BB: $121.04 (121 bb)
UTG: $35 (35 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 3
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, SB calls $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($6) 6 Q Q (3 players)
SB bets $2, BB folds, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($10) Q (2 players)
SB bets $5, Hero calls $5

River: ($20) 4 (2 players)
SB bets $4, Hero raises to $24, SB calls $20

Results:

Spoiler

$68 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: 6 Q Q Q 4
Hero showed A 3 and won $65 ($32 net)
SB mucked 8 9 and lost (-$33 net)

WFT... I was pretty sure he didn't have anything and made my decision to try and collect his donkbets and raise the river but his line was very interesting with that hand :f_love: On the other hand had I tried that with 75 I insta kill myself _mad:

Another anon hand:

Prima, $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

CO: $4.63 (4.6 bb)
BTN: $106.18 (106.2 bb)
SB: $197.50 (197.5 bb)
BB: $169.75 (169.8 bb)
UTG: $102.23 (102.2 bb)
Hero (MP): $112.82 (112.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J A

Flop: ($15.39) J 6 5 (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero checks, BTN bets $7.50, Hero calls $7.50

Turn: ($30.39) 2 (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero checks, BTN bets $18, Hero calls $18

River: ($66.39) Q (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero checks, BTN bets $76.05, Hero calls $76.05

Results:

Spoiler

$218.49 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: J 6 5 2 Q
CO showed 4 Q and lost (-$4.63 net)
BTN showed A K and lost (-$106.18 net)
Hero showed J A and won $215.49 ($109.31 net)

So cool to play anonymous when you have the nuts, so difficult with marginal made hands. Btw I was calling here even without a  on the river which is the variance heavy nature of these tables.

Going to sleep a bit now and after that packing and going for a one day trip. I'll be back in Sunday to get ready for Viena :f_love: :f_love: :f_love:

Last night I put in a couple of hours because I felt like playing despite being tired and away from home. One fish sucked out on me - someone call the police _cry: but nothing interesting happened beside that. My challange is going well - haven't looked at results for a 2nd day in a roll.

Turns out I'm doing pretty well in the Unibet rake race for the month. I was 10th in October and so far I'm at 4th place and way ahead of these behind me. Problem is that the second part of the month will probably be a little slower for me with the trip to Vienna but I like my chanses to keep the 4th. My volume this month is great - almost 100 hours already, 57k hands.

One hand from yesterday

Prima, $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

UTG: $68.46 (68.5 bb)
Hero (MP): $109.84 (109.8 bb)
CO: $100 (100 bb)
BTN: $100 (100 bb)
SB: $80.01 (80 bb)
BB: $318.04 (318 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A Q
UTG folds, Hero raises to $3, CO calls $3, 3 folds

Flop: ($7.50) 4 Q 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, CO calls $5

Turn: ($17.50) J (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $12, Hero calls $12

River: ($41.50) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $28, Hero calls $28

Results:

Spoiler

$97.50 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: 4 Q 7 J Q
Hero mucked A Q and lost (-$48 net)
CO showed 4 4 and won $94.50 ($46.50 net)

Went for bet flop, c/calldown to collect float bets and frustration river bluffs. On the turn I had the feeling I was beat because of the sizing - turn look like value sizing and the river look like that as well. Now when I thought a bit about his range I don't think my play is terrible because I actually beat part of his value range as well. if I give him legit strong range of 44,77,JJ, QT+ I'm 41% against that so easy call with pot odds of 29%. Even if I remove QT from his range I have 28% equity so it's close. And since it is anon table there is no way in hell I should fold river here with trips.

Blah... challange is over The reason is I lost quite a bit in my last few sessions and got a bit scared not knowing how much exactly. My bankroll for NL100 at Unibet is decent but not huge so I will have to keep an eye on it untill I recover the losses. Feeling a bit pist off about my last session so I ended it earlier and will do something else now.

That's one sad and lame post, isn't it. Good thing Vienna is coming soon, need some inspiration :f_cry:

Blew off some more stacks yesterday, pure spew for most part :f_biggrin: Easy game. I'm writing from the airport and in half an hour I'm flying to Vienna. Gonna meet old friend of mine there and hopefuly some PS members as well. My plan is no poker while there but who knows. I will try to hook up this friend of mine so that might require a little demonstration. Although showing him my recent results can hardly be the way to go :f_biggrin:
