Yes. This is the reason that Poker Stars have decided to put the Stars software in the dumpster and keep Full Tilts software - as is :]. They are all on drugs. (Or not, go figure.)

Johan. Reopening Full tilt with its crappy software and crappy rakeback and crappy financial history might seem like a big mistery, but it stops being one when we look at marketing psychology. One of the main thesis of modern marketing psychology is that consumer is not a rational being.
Full tilt was reopened not because its an excellent product, but because bunch of people like it for some reason or other. Whether its those awesome childish avatars or the aura of all those cool pros with cool hats who used to advertise it, I dont know but its working.
Another big reason - black friday left a huge wound in every poker players soul. So now when its reopened with big fuzz it creates a positive kick for the whole industry.
These are some of the reasons Full tilt was reopened, which does not mean by any way that Dull tilt (oh, I meant Full tilt) is any way better than Pokerstars or any other reputable poker room.

By that logic they should replace the software on Pokerstars. Such a dumb logic.
Personally i think both software are equally good so it mostly comes down to personal preference and a better VIP scheme on stars.

Just because FTP is far behind adding a bunch of customization options available through their client doesn't mean you can't customize it.
You just have to dig up old threads for pre-made themes/skins/decks/chips/etc.
Or you can customize the client yourself through the use of .xml's and .png's and even .svg's for the decks which is by far the best quality solution because those are vector images. And obviously, you can turn off the avatars.

Other than the looks, FTP is still up there with Stars regarding comfort, speed and reliability. If you think otherwise, I dare you to try Party/888/Ongame/iPoker.
Ok I get what you are saying. Full tilt is like Linux. It's great if you like to "dig around", copy and past all day, fix bugs afterwards, get lost in directories and write command prompts. For those who don't enjoy this, not so much.
As for teenager and housewifes, I have no personal issue with them. I'm currently not playing at Full tilt nor at Stars and I don't get all emotional about it. I just amazes me why some people actively advocate playing at Full tilt... Whats so good about it that makes someone to prefer this over alternatives? It's just irrational.

i haven't yet tried FTP, and on PokerStars I've never grinded. so i have no say in the FTP vs Stars debate.
i wanted to say something regards how iPoker/888 look though, since i play on them mostly.

both look perfectly acceptable, i think.
and that's the thing. if you like any of the bigger rooms, surely there's a way to costumize it a little so that it's enjoyable to your eye.
just grind wherever you think/calculated is the most value, and if it's somewhere ugly - try adjusting (it)!
there's no universally perfect client. ^^
also, regarding client functionality: a lot of it is outsourced to our tracking software anyway.
I will be happy if every member of poker strat or anyone who knows much about playing poker stays on stars. GL playing against those 50 tabling nits but hey, you are playing on great looking software so your cool with that.

It is not my logic. It is Poker Stars logic. I too think that they both are very good with Full tilt being the better one. In case you have missed it, it was in the news a while back that Stars are starting from scratch with their software.
Now go figure again.
