What does the advice to buy the package first has to do with anything, did I miss a post that got deleted?

So yeah it's hard to disagree with that statement, but the statement only said that it was adviced to buy a package first, what does it make it relevant to post this?

It's relevant because it shows the main goal of this was to make everyone buy a seat, not to actually give one member a free view. If all of participants bought a seat to be eligible for the promo, it wouldn't really be a giveaway, it would be a possible refund. There's a subtle difference imo!

Ah you meant it like that, I thought you we're trying to say that people that participated in the free seat give-away should have bought the seats as well, and then the event would have happened or something.

Not +EV to buy a ticket and IF you are the winner to get a refund IMO. _love:

No winner obviously, there was never meant to be one!
Leatherass shamelessly advertised his seminar through this misleading thread, wasting the time of many people.

Don't other people get banned for pulling stunts like this?

"This ticket is worth €1,945 and the opportunity to take part in this experience for free shouldn't be missed!"

It's a shame if no seat was given away.

I am sure there are reasons for how this whole process went, however I do feel kinda bad that I still regularly keep coming back to check this thread, just to see if an explanation has been provided.

If nobody says anything, we can pretend it never happened. Easy!

Hey Max, all..

There is some unfortunate news regarding Leatherass which resulted in him being unable to continuing to coach and I believe play. I don't particularly feel obliged to say the exact reasons because they are personal.

I will ask Dusty to come and post here himself, or give me something to tell you guys. I can promise you its not Dusty forgetting about you guys or anything like that and it is a genuine reason. So I'd ask for patience there and I'm hopeful he will come and post himself, unfortunately, without the coach avatar.

So what now? Lots of people posted in the thread and it was genuinely a good thread. I defintiely don't think peoples times were "wasted" its a very interesting hand, I was actually the hero in op and I ended up folding on a Queen river.

I do understand that there should still be a prize and although it is not going to be a seat in a seminar by dusty (this will of course not happen any more) we can still do something else.

Any suggestions on how you guys would like to proceed here? Maybe there is a fun way that you guys could be rewarded for taking part/winning this contest.

Apologies again and I hope Dusty is about soon and back as a coach for PokerStrategy.com

Hi Patrick!

I am sorry to hear about Dusty's bad news and I genuinely hope he is well.

However if you look back in the thread, members have been asking for updates for many weeks/months. I think you should have let us know that something was going wrong on Dusty's side earlier and members would have patiently waited to get more info.

It's the lack of communication that is frustrating especially when everyone's excitement is very high due to the great winning prize.

But yeah, agree it's not an official "hand evaluation" board so no flags to us and the guys organizing the seminar obviously were not watching the thread anymore.

So how should we do a reward here?

Arrange for the winner to have dinner and tickets to a show in Las Vegas with one (or more) of the Royal Flush Girls.

Not sure. Get the winner free coaching by Leatherass or another great PS coach? DB review or whatever the winner wants. Since the original prize was worth ~2k if I am not mistaken maybe more than one session? Or 1 session for the top 5 best answers since this was a community based challenge (so that more than 1 personn get free coaching)

Obviously if you can get that

Heh :)

Yeah we can't get Leatherass to do the coaching unfortunately.

However our resident experts will look at this thread and pick 1, 3 or 5 "winners" by Wednesday afternoon and then can speak to the guys about how to reward them :)
