Only read about the villain is that he wasn't bad and he was positional aware.

Is checking here 2 times good? On the river I thought that I could take some value from worst pocket pairs.

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Our perceived range is strong and I don't mind betting to take the pot down here.

As played just bet turn and take the pot down.

You already checked the flop so those worse pairs can still call the turn.

However we are better off just taking the pot down asap rather than hope he gives us a few BBs with a pair that gets 2 free cards from us.
