Hey there, jumping in a little bit ;).

- Study; definately being lazy here. Every semester I plan on keeping up, every semester I find myself a couple weeks before the exam unwraping the plastic that covers the books. I don't realy know why I am just not getting some dicipline in this area. Maybe because I don't realy like the topics that are being discussed the majority of the time.
It's probably because of your last sentence ;). If there are other, more important things to you than studying, it's likely that you're going to be doing those instead. Not many people actually study every single day, but it's not impossible either - it's mostly a matter of habits and priorities.
- Poker; studying in poker can be tough sometimes. Same problem as above but different cause. Ofcourse I see poker as facinating game, so I don't mind to learn. However, most days I find myself in a condition in which I just do not feel in the mood to study. On these days I play poker in order to play poker and I am more likely to tilt/lose.
To go a bit deeper; why do I not feel like improving in something I like to improve in? I think this is because I am to tired at these moments, but not tired enough to go to bed. Doing something like watching tv seems like a waist of valuable time, however, Im not capable of playing my a-game at poker.
This makes perfect sense ;). It seems to me that you tend to do the most of your studying/poker work in the evenings. How about doing these things right after you wake up (when you don't have lectures)?
This way, you can get a lot of work done as soon as possible and in the evenings you can just relax/do whatever you want because you will have done everything you wanted to do ;).
Of course this is easier said than done, so what you can do to get started is:
1. before you go to bed, decide what you're going to be working on next morning
2. prepare for this. If you want to do a session review, open hold'em manager and put your pc to hibernate when you go to sleep. once you wake up and turn on the pc, HEM will be waiting there for you.
3. it's crucial that you get used to doing the important things before checking e-mails, fb, browsing the internet, etc., becuase if you you start any of those activities, it's likely that you'll just waste an hour or two.
So you can commit to working on your game for at least 15minutes each morning first thing in the morning, and then after 2 weeks move on from there and start increasing the amount.
- Social/family; Sometimes I just enjoy doing things that have to be done at home, like returning rented movies or cleaning something up. On other days I am very enoyed when I am ask to do a thing like the latter. If I am feeling happy/healthy/... I'm not complaining, if I am tired/bored/enoyed by sth, I am very likely of getting enoyed by a minor task.
Same with friendships, some days I feel like investing in some friendship wile on other moments I could not care less.
It seems to me that the cause that needs to be worked on here is mostly the tiredness/annoyedness/boredom, which should generally be avoided to begin with. I'm sure that Erik will be able to give you some advice here :).
So I think my definition of 'lazy' is something like:
Lacking the interest of maximizing my effort due to my emotional/physical state of being.
At the same time I still sit down at the poker table/do a task, just because I feel like I should not waist my time by doing nothing.
I think this whole pattern is being influenced by my eating/sleeping patterns. (just an assumption of mine, could be incorrect)
Im curious about your reaction.
This is indeed very very likely :).
Little update:
* Today I missed my sleeping target for the first time. It was unavoidable realy, since i went to bed at a ridiculous time. Tomorrow I'm going to miss it again, because I just missed so much sleep last couple days. Not happy about this.
** Eating pattern adaptions go steady eddy imo. I think I'm eating slightly more healthy then before. I definately drink less crap then before and the 2cup's of coffee a day works great. Today I was realy tired, so i drank more coffee, but i did not help a bit. Maybe I should start to restrict on 1cup/day since it is just not that great for your body.
Session warmup did work yesterday. Today i passed them. (yes I played poker, although being not In a very great physical state.) I am quite sure that my game was not as great as it could have been if i'd not had passed the warm up.
* Session cool down is realy tough to accomplish. It is just the most major adjustment. I hope I can permenantly implement this, starting at the next session.
It seems to me that you're trying to adapt many new habits at once, and this could be dangerous unfortunately :(. I do understand that you want to change your life as soon as possible and improve, but doing too many things at once can be setting yourself for failiure.
So if you are having problems with this, i strongly suggest that you make 1 or 2 habits the top priorities and really focus on them, and keep the others optional until you've been working on your first 1 or 2 habits for at least 2 weeks and you feel like you've gotten used to them ;).
Slow and steady wins the race!
