Hey there'

I read previously that you have a little warm up to prepare you before you start your session.

Could you please detail what you do to prepare yourself?

It is something that could help me I think.

Thank you

Well isn't this a reward in itself! The man who inspired you to start blogging posts in your blog.

Keep up the great work Pawel!

I start warm ups because I usually spew some cash for first 10 minutes . The same thing was in the gym after I damage my shoulders and had an injury for three months I make warm ups before every work out.

My warm up:
1) I Read poker hand evaluation forum, think what I would do, read answers and ask questions if I have different point of view
2) I Read my doc file. I have doc file when I have my leaks and when I have few ideas that I want to implement
3) As a part of warm up I also: turn off skype, take ~2 liters of water, clean my room, go to toilet, turn off mobile phone, eat something
4) I need to add some breathing session before and while playing. To evade tilt. It wasn’t a problem before because I just quit session. Now I want to play longer sessions and I must to have few ideas of dealing with that. In polish community there were three movies with sport psychologist. He was talking about it. I’ll put here my notes from this movie. I think I should watch first part in this week.

Thanks Alex. Yeah it is reward in itself. I have a great opportunity and I do my best to use it well.

Welcome on my blog. _cool:

Today I’ve been playing only two sessions _cry: for my defense I can say that first one was 94 min long and second one 229 min long total 3.7k hands and more than 5h of play. Today was pretty good day. I am very, very glad that I’ll have a chance to work with Gordon and I can’t wait to start. Today w34z3l make few great hand evaluations. I’ll give them a try.

High 3bet range flat AK as BU

Yeah, you basically call 100% of flops, whatever the texture.

Usually you can safely fold AK unimproved to a turn barrel in 3bet pots. Most opponents at these stakes do not 2barrel light in 3bet pots.

More often opponent will check turn to you, and you should bet. Although with a hand like AK it's only partly a bluff, also partly protection - so you can get away with making your turn sizing very small.

Sometimes of course, you will hit TPTK also.

Top set multiway

The advantages to calling flop are -

1) You can get all-in in higher equity spot on the turn vs draw.

2) You may still have the odds/implieds to continue on turn when 4th spade hits

3) Multi-way especially - even if you knew one of your opponents had a flush you'd still be getting the odds to draw (get all-in) with your TT due to the multi-way action. So it's not necessarily a bad thing for you if you can get all the money in multi-way here. This kind of thing crops up in PLO, where top-set is probably dominated but against 2 other opponents you nearly always have the odds to draw to a boat.

I'd probably imagine "standard" is to re-raise the flop here as you did. This is one way I differ from a lot of regs - with sets on monotone boards.

From both hand evaluations I was very glad. I need to change my whole game plan. Fish on stars are far different than fish on unibet. I also must start cbeting less or start barreling for bluff. Tomorrow I’ll make some notes on fish, maybe they play similar and I’ll learn something new. Can’t wait to find out.

The most important lesson from 11.03.2013 is:
Change your believes about fish. Be happy they call all day long because when you hit something it’s possibility to take they stack. If you don’t change it you will tilt a spew far more often.

PS. Something nice I found when I was searching for wallpaper at my hard drive:

I'm raising there on the flop. Still I guess it's a call on the turn too.

yeah but by raising him on the flop you isolate yourself vs better hands / draws. By calling you let him bluff again. He's reg, he plays 3 tables and I didn't let him play with fish :f_biggrin: I was squizing him, I was isolating fish and he know I am thinking reg. We were talking a bit. My gameplan was to call and x/shove on non spade turn on spade I would probably fold. Still sick spot :f_biggrin:

First I thought he was playing 78/61/47. My mistake. But still if he is that aggressive, you don't isolate yourself against better hands. What is he isolating there with on the button? 88, 66? KK would 4bet you right? You almost always get it in vs AK and vs flush draws. But if you know how he plays then letting him hang himself is also a good idea.

I've been playing today 6hours so I am very happy with that. Anyway I was talking with one regs on stars he plays 4-10 hours every day. If he can I can do it… It means I’ll probably play at least 6 hours a day in most days.

I am reading book: Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth by T. Harv Eker it’s a great book by the way. I am reading it for the third time. It’s funny because when I read it for the very first time I had only 2-3 rich people believes. After second time, year ago I had 8 rich people believes and now I think I’ll have all of them but we’ll see. As believes I mean also habit. I don’t buy the idea that someone believe that exercise is very important and he don’t do it. It’s not believes it’s a bullshit.

I start reading it today and I find out one exercise: no complaining for 7 days. I start it today after I read it but I change duration. I want to make 30 days without complying rules are:
1) I can’t complaining by writing or speaking
2) I can’t complain in my mind. When I start I must get rid of it almost instantaneously.
3) I’ll write on my blog how it is going
4) I can write that something bad happens as long as it’s not complaining but information, eg: I lost today 4BI’s that’s why I spend more time learning

I think it's time for some graphs:
stars:

unibet:

Since 15 February:
I've been playing: 75k hands
Won: 1171$
Won EV: 606$

The most important lesson from 12.03.2013 is:
Fish look for timing, use it or waste money.

Hi Pawel,

that's a great idea. I've the same problem. Usually I spew one buy-in during the first 15 minutes, that I'll win back later in the session when I'm warmed up. That's a serious leak. I'll try out your solution.

Besides, congratulations for the regularity of your postings, I'm very impressed.

Kind regards, Walter

Thanks. The idea was to write everyday for at least 90 days and I'll do it. If I start doing something I always do my best.

You win money from fish postflop. Preflop push only make variation higher, just outplay people postflop.

As you can see I am mod now. They like the way I write in polish mindset sections and give me proposal to become mod there I agreed because it’s a new experience.

This weekend I'll spend at uni so I'll play less :f_mad:. Today I must work on few homework for uni. I even didn’t realize how much I complain in my mind until this 30 days exercise. At the gym, I fought with thoughts like: “omfg what a fucking moron, he came here to talk? Move your ass lazy bitch stop talking”, while playing: “how is this fucking possible”. I have a lot of things to work on _o: I didn’t realize I complain so much in my mind because I don’t complain out loud. I am really glad I start this exercise. It will distress my life.

The most important lesson from 14.03.2013 is:
Always make session review. Even if you are 300$+ you still can make huge amount of errors.

Today I have break from poker. I’ve been playing for 12 days without any breaks. Every day and I needed a break. I have a lot of stuff to think about because my life is going to change a lot. I saw today Gordon movie: The Secret of Simplicity and this is an outcome.

My work space:

He also remind me about something. My wallet, it has huge sentimental value for:

I’ve bought this wallet after I accomplished my first project. Learning 2 hours for study every day. I used to be very bad at my uni in the first few weeks I knew nothing from high school. Anway with this project I become one of the best people at uni and guys start pay me for tuition and for writing for them exams. I still remember one night when I go out hang out with girls and I came back home drunk and high at 2 AM. That time I need to wake up at 7 AM but I didn’t do at that day my 2 hours it’s still one and a half hour left.

I was doing integral for next ninety minutes drunk and high. It was fucking awful. When you on high time pass so long, when you are drunk and high you are tried and time pass sooooooooo slow. Let’s try to do integral then…. Long story short I knew that after that I am ready for everything. Next day in job was terrible, but who cares? I did my job done. After 90 days of challenge I bought wallet from picture above. It’s good quality leather it costs me nearly 200 PLN and I earned back than 8 PLN for hour. I’ve bought it with intention of improve my financial situation and I forgot about it even it worked… I am glad I remember about it now.

This is going to be my new purchase:

I’ll graver on it logo: „The World is Mine” and it will mean start of something new. New sacrifices that I’ll make to win new life. Life I’ll enjoy more.

The most important lesson from 14.03.2013 is:
Surround yourself with things that will remind you about your achievement and will have sentimental value for you. Buy them high quality because your life is gonna be the same.

The most important lesson from 15.03.2013 is:
I definitely need to set up my sleep schedule. I can’t waste my time and energy on problems with sleeping.

I am 40 hours without sleep. I am falling asleep while I am sitting or standing, it doesn’t matter that much right now. Anyway I was at uni, I did exercise and I can say this day was pretty productive even if I ate 2 times more than usual and feel like shit all day long.

Btw I gave up no complaining challenge. I’ll back on this latter on because it’s a great thing but I can’t afford to focus on different things than poker right now.

Unless your job is taking out the trash!

It is SO hard to get rid of the accumulation of years worth of "stuff".
Each item has a story, a memory or an emotion attached to it, and tossing it out -- even giving it to charity -- means closing that chapter of your life.

But you are SO right. The clutter of things -- and things to do -- robs us of our freedom.

Peace,
