@Jānis: I like that you've taken the time to answer the vision questions already. I'm looking forward to your mission as well. Know that having a detailed vision and mission is very good though - the clearer your destination is, the more likely it is that you will be able to reach it . So if you go into more detail about your desires, it can benefit you a lot in the long run. I can see that you playing poker is very connected to money, which could cause you to tilt (because if you're not winning money, then what is the point of playing?). Could you perhaps think a bit more about the things (apart from money) do you enjoy about poker? Is it the challenge? Is it the technical side of it? Do you like solving tough situations? Do you like the competition? etc. . Take care! -Primož
Finally it's time to write down my mission ![]()
I will grind up my br (won't cash out ) and try to move to higher limits
Stop playing some random MTT's. This is my biggest leak I think, I can't resist playing some tournaments, especially on Sundays. Usually it ends with lost 1k or something like that.
I will do some learning every 10k hands I play. I mean I will watch some video or play around with flopzilla or do something else that can help me improve. I'm doing it very rarely now. I need somehow to force myself for that, so this could be a good start.
Go to sleep and wake up same time every day. Also I want to plan my day a little bit more. This is going terribly for last months. I usually go to sleep at random time and wake up sometimes even at 2AM, like today ![]()
My playing isn't very connected to the money. Only a little bit maybe, I'm not living like a huge baller, a little bit more than for surviving is enough for me. And it's pretty ez because we don't have huge prices here. A couple of buyins is enough for a month for me. I already mentioned before, I like this game and I don't think about money when I play. I keep some money off the poker, I don't have to worry what I'll eat tomorrow if I lose this pot. I haven't been in that situation and I hope I won't be. But I know some people in this situation and it's very sad. I hope none of u will be there and u will get out of it if u have similar problems now.
And yeah, I like solving tough situations and I like competitions and all that good stuff. I think I like poker that much because it's competitive. Also playing against some good players is quite enjoyable for me even when I lose money
Hey Janis,
Nice thread! I also participate in the mashine-making project

My biggest problem actually is laziness I guess, any suggestions how to overcome that ?
I had same issue with that in life, now it's only left in studying ♦
I suppose most of the times it's related to procrastination. Lots of texts can be found about it out there and It's described as a very common issue due to human's nature. And I think the key of getting the laziness solved is starting to work on procrastination as a core of it.

Dean
Hey again!
I love your mission statement, it's great :)!
Now you can set some weekly goals to make sure that you're constantly living in live with your mission and progressing towards your vision ;).
If you review your mision & vision daily, you will be way more motivated than before and your laziness should go away ;).
But if you happen to stumble upon some procrastination problems, please to let me know and I'd love to help you solve them!

I am officially getting the "There is no such things a laziness!" tattoo! ♦
Ok so lets make a case study here. If you look at poker and life in general could you list all the areas or situations when you believe your self to be lazy? Anything you can think of!

OK, lets try
I'm too lazy to go to the store for some food, I order pizza instead. Store is like 50 meters from my house.
When I have to do something (mostly university related) I do it in last possible day, sometimes even hour.
When I start cleaning my house, I usually get it done in a week or 2.
About poker - I usually say myself that I will do some analysis or other stuff away from tables after my session. In the end I never do it after the session, maybe once in 3 months
I'm even too lazy to type. It took a week ? Or something like that to answer this post.
These are few things I could think of now, I think I could continue this list for a long time, but I'm too lazy to do that
P.S. GL with ur tattoo

lol, A+!
Hey again,
you can tackle your procrastination problems by:
1. Making a list of all the things that you want/need to do
2. Defining concrete next action steps for each of the tasks (break them down!)
3. Making a habit out of working on the hardest/ugliest task each morning for at least 15 minutes. Simply do this for a month.
4. Reviewing your vision & mission before doing this each morning. It will then be easier to get started :).
Let us know how it goes!

If you look at all the situations where you are lazy, you can see that there are certain patterns. When it is connected to earning and improvement, diet and exercise and poker. These are all areas where there are emotions involved. Laziness almost always come from negative emotions standing in the way of the positive things we want to change in our lives. Often we refer tot his as "resistance" or the natural procrastination that comes into effect by thoughts or habits that keep us from facing the real issue.Does this seem like what you are struggling with?
