Hi!

It's me again! Dont be angry for not posting with converter(technical difficulties all the time by me), it's just that hand seems so learnful i cant resist..

shorthanded. MP raise, i defended with 3,4s, i know too loosish but it was the last hand of my yesterday's session and i said why not lets do it.

flop: 3,3,6. So let me introduce my thought proccess:

1). I c/c or c/r? default would be c/r, but can i be fancy here? i thought of impementing otherwise fish monster line-cc flop and cr turn, cause i thought he is double barrelling turn most of the times with Ax hands?! i did c/r and he called.

turn: Q. i bet/3. he called.

river: another Q. :f_cry: i c/c expecting to lose here 99% of the time. he also insta bet if that means something. so i lost to better FH.

2). do you c/f here on that river?

No, you do not fold on any river!

You can check and call if he is mr. Bluffer. Nothing wrong with betting either. Stuff like AK might pay off - who knows.

But don't ever ever fold because your read is just wrong. He doesn't have a full house 99% of the time. Perhaps 65% of the time - or even 80%. But nowhere near 99%+. When you check he might bet higher pockets for value or try to bluff you off a pocket pair. He could even put you on a 6, since you check-raised the flop, thereby indicating weakness in his eyes. Who knows.

Flop: The flop is kind of dry, so there is a substantial chance the opponent will check back on the turn here. Check-raise flop must be right.

Yeah, he might, but that's just the point. You can't be sure. If he does, he might fold directly to your raise because you would scream "I have trips" there.

Just to make the point clear to myself as well.

The hand below is NL, but the same principle applies. I setmine with 22 vs a preflop raiser. I flopped a full house. I donk, which is sometimes a pretty damned good move in NL if the stack sizes are right. (Donking says "I am weak and I use the board texture to try to steal the pot". A big raise is the usual response from somebody with a real hand.) If the opponent has a K, I am quite likely to get his stack by donking when 100BB deep.

Then comes the turn card. I managed to twist myself into thinking that he had a better full house, and started asking myself if I was calling an all in.

So so stupid!

Spoiler

Microgaming - €0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): €4.00
UTG: €4.51
MP: €4.58
CO: €4.37
BTN: €5.05
SB: €5.75

SB posts SB €0.02, Hero posts BB €0.04

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.06) Hero has 2♣ 2♥

fold, fold, CO raises to €0.10, fold, SB calls €0.08, Hero calls €0.06

Flop: (€0.30, 3 players) 2♠ K♦ K♣
SB checks, Hero bets €0.20, CO calls €0.20, fold

Turn: (€0.70, 2 players) A♥
Hero checks, CO bets €0.49, Hero calls €0.49

River: (€1.68, 2 players) 7♠
Hero checks, CO bets €1.26, Hero calls €1.26

CO shows K♠ T♥ (Three of a Kind, Kings) (Pre 50%, Flop 23%, Turn 16%)
Hero shows 2♣ 2♥ (Full House, Twos full of Kings) (Pre 50%, Flop 77%, Turn 84%)
Hero wins €4.10

I set it up to get his stack, then I blew it. Of course he can have AK - or AA. But Kx is a million times more likely.

yohan how can you ever check that turn. ? as you said you wanted his stack. he only raised once. and called the flop and you manage to think he has AA and AK ? but luckily you realize your mistake.

check/fold a fullhouse is really not possible. to your flopquestion. i'd always checkraise this because you don't have to fear that he's taking a freecard, he'll call his entire range on this flop and he'll rather put you on 6x or some pocketpairs and on a blank he will raise with all his stronger madehands whereas if you check/call and checkraise the Turn, you might make him believe more that you got a 3 and he could be proceeding more cautiously. Your line is fine but as he could also have raised KK or AA on the River and he thinks you have overplayed something, you cannot fold the River but you have to check/call
