Hey everyone. I am in the US and just came across this site and so far it looks pretty amazing. I had a brief run with some home games several years ago and played a tiny bit online but was never any good. Now that I have some free time I am looking to learn the game proper. This site seems like a great place to start. I look forward to learning from you all. Thanks!

Welcome to Pokerstrategy :)

This is indeed a very good place to start you poker learning. I would recommend that you take the quiz so you will become bronze and that way get access to more articles and videos. Alone with that you should be able to increase your game a lot.

Best of luck to you! :f_cool:

Hi, tlilpotonqui !
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com !

Like most of us, I'm sure you're hoping that online poker -- in some form -- returns to the US soon!

All the best,
--VS

Hey folks! I am certainly hoping poker comes back to the US. I know there are a few places that will take US players but my options are certainly limited. There are two casinos with good poker rooms that I will try once I've checked out the NL course you all have here. It looks really promising for someone at my level. Thanks again everyone.

I'll do that for sure. Which quiz are you referring to?

I'm refering to the start quiz, I'm actually not sure where you find it.

And btw. aren't you able to play online on the merge network in the US?

Hey tlilpotonqui,

Welcome to the forum and to PokerStrategy.com!

I see you've met the welcoming crew Thanks all for welcoming our new member :) As a US citizen you are not able to avail of all our offers just now tlilpotonqui, hopefully once the poker situation in the US becomes better then you will be.

So you're looking to take part in our NL course. That's pretty awesome and a great place to start off! You should also consider buying yourself a status here! The more educational material you have available to you the better chance you have of making it IMO :)

Welcome aboard :)
Gary

Thanks gary, I'll look into that!

As a US player I am able to play on Merge, yes. I''ll be checking on that for sure. My stakes will be quite small at first. It will be many months before I have much of a chance to play a live game.

If anyone has a link to that quiz please let me know, I haven't been able to find it. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

No worries my friend :)

Unfortunately you cannot take the quiz. I should have explained that better in my previous post. We offer free money to our members who pass our poker quiz. However, with the situation in the USA, we cannot offer this to American players as of yet. Fingers crossed that this changes soon!
