Got a phone call today from the Mrs saying "hi just bought you a poker book from Poundland!"

Great I thought what rubbish is she gonna come back with, The Paul Gascoigne Guide To Pub Poker?

I think of all the grateful lines Im gonna have to use when she walks in with some old dribble to keep her happy.

So finally she comes home all excited throws me the poundland carrier bag. I start to open it up and have a look, fake smile ready, and much to my amazement theres "Ghosts At The Table" by Des Wilson in the bag!

I read this book when it first come out and what a quality book it is. Its a sort of history of poker and really worth a read, and for a £1 you certainly cant go wrong.

So thank you to the Mrs well done!

I might have to go in there myself and see what other £1 wonders they do!!

both are good books and definatly worth a £1 :-) the book writen by devilfish is a great read too. lifes a gamble is a good book as it shows just how a gamblers mind set works and how easy it is to be broke. reading doyles book at mo but that in itself is a bit of a grind but hopefully will improve now ive hit the vegas part.
