Tried to make this look like a standard steal, because there were a couple of regular 3-betters to the left, esp. BB.

Should I give up after the flop, or is the turn also worth a bet? If OOP I'd check the turn, but thought if betting the turn IP we can check back if we don't fill OTR, and by betting the turn we can build the pot a bit more to plan for a boat OTR (i'm an optimist) without being 100% committed. If he raises or shoves the turn, I'm just folding (he's 11/8 after 132 hands, but was unknown at the time)

In the end, so glad I didn't get the boat or quads!

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.94)
BB ($2)
UTG ($5)
UTG+1 ($0.80)
UTG+2 ($0.80)
MP1 ($0.82)
Hero ($4.94)
BTN ($2.06)

Dealt to Hero K♠ K♥

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.06, fold, SB calls $0.05, BB calls $0.04

FLOP ($0.18) A♦ T♦ K♦

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.12, SB calls $0.12, BB folds

TURN ($0.42) A♦ T♦ K♦ 9♥

SB checks, Hero bets $0.28, SB calls $0.28

RIVER ($0.98) A♦ T♦ K♦ 9♥ 4♣

SB checks, Hero checks

Hero shows K♠ K♥
(Pre 82%, Flop 0.0%, Turn 0.0%)

SB shows J♦ Q♦
(Pre 18%, Flop 100.0%, Turn 100.0%)

SB wins $0.95

I think you played this well, not much to add. River could still be bet/fold, he could have worse hands in his range like 2pairs combos, so I'd bet like 1/2. I'd assume he raises everything else than JQ :diamond: before river

Hello,

Everything until the river is fine.

On the river I would rather bet there as well. Our hand is strong enough to go for three streets of value even on this board, and here we are only beat by QJ (which I am not sure if he calls preflop at all).

Best,
Plamen

I agree with you guys on betting maybe 1/2 pot OTR. I may have got a bit spooked wondering what he calls 2 streets OOP with, maybe TT or even KT. Ofc, this is just an extreme situation and if he does raise then it's an easy fold...
