New suscriber over here !
How about an update for your new follower ?
Hey, thanks for posting.
I was planning to update for a few days now, but was just lazy as always...
My volume sucks again, only ~400 games from the start of the month, and about $1k below EV for that time as well. I've been really busy with uni and work, though, and it will stay like that for the next week at least.
I'm open sitting 60s/100s for the most part and sitting some players I marked as weaker (on the 60s only), and also unknowns when I have no action.
I feel that when I'm playing my A-game, I could be one of the better regs, but the problem is putting in consistently good volume, while playing at least B or B+. Thankfully, MGoP2 is solid gold. I've almost read it for the first time now (no fucking time, again), and once my uni work is done (and it's 90% after next week), I'll be focusing on improving my C-game.
Also, I've been reading a lot into productivity (thanks Schneitzelfisch) and I'll be doing major work in that department as well.
(I'm aware I sound like a serial procrastinator that I am when I write stuff like "next week", but I've actually improved a lot and these are not wishes, but plans).
Mid-Long term plans post still pending. No time for that either...
priorities is also an important part of productivity imo so I don't see it as lazy atm ♦
Yeah, I suppose you're right. But, realistically, I AM a lazy bastard and need to improve ♦
In other news, it's a sad day today. A last visit of a great man to a great place in the roll he had for 26 years. It's been an honor and a privilege to support him, albeit from the far:

Thank you for everything!
Well in fairness, you should have beaten Chelsea yourselves.
At least you can count on Wigan to help you
Another pic from today: my compatriot and the former Red Star captain:

Damn, two months without an update...
I wish I could say I was less lazy about poker than blogging, but alas...
So, I took an aggro shot at 100s in May. It went bad and the downswing continued into the 60s all the way to the 30s. All the time I had to withdraw some money along the way. Not the best way to build a bankroll, mind you.
I think I only played like 2k games last 3 months, maybe even less, so now it's getting to a point where SN will be a challenge, and not a mere milestone towards 2xSN... Last few days I managed to buckle down and play ~200 games, taking a (semi)successful shot at the 60s. BR at ~4k, confidence high. Bring it !
In other news, I was partying like a boss since I finished the school year. Along came a beautiful girl, so I can't really complain.
Health/fitness also not bad. I'm not doing anything high intensity, but jogging/riding a bike 3-4 times a week, playing tennis 4-5h every week, pushups, pullups, dips, squats etc.. daily.
I'll post a graph some other time, but for now I'll leave you with a nice tune I've been listening quite a lot lately, and by which I'm trying to live:
Nice to see you back! ![]()
There is nothing wrong with taking shots because you need only one time to go through. You understand variance and you don't seem to push your luck with super aggro brm so everything will be ok.
Congrats for successful school year. Also good luck with that girl. ![]()
Always good to read positive things about people I like. Keep crushing and don't forget to remember us micro fishes when you reach high stakes
Thanks for the support, man, much appreciated ![]()
Update: nothing happened. Went out again two nights in a row, had work during the day, hung out with the gf... Easy game.
Today I have some free time, so I'll probably put in a few games.
Tune of the day:
Hey guys, waiting for lunch, so thought I might update this ![]()
No graph for July, because I'm embarrassed by my lousy volume. 850 games in total, 3/4 of that on the 30s. About 400$ in profit ( - 500$ taking 60s shots). Ran pretty good on the 30s and pretty poor on the 60s.
This month already started a bit better, with 117 games yesterday, and I'm going to put in another 100 right after lunch.
As for the limits, I'll stick to 30s for the whole month. I really need the cash this time, so no taking shots or slacking. 30s + volume = profit. The general plan is ~2k games, but 3k would be better.
So, no time, to write more now (or anything important, for that matter). I'll try to update more often, though...
Hi all,
managed to put in some volume the past few days as well. Sadly, the results are not rewarding me as I hoped, but what can you do...
I've given poker a lot of thought past few days. Namely, trying for supernova ( after slacking for 7 months, cashing out a lot and running bad at taking shots ), and I've come to the conclusion that it will be very difficult, and that's understating it.
So, I'm now torn between grinding on stars or moving to FTP to play the 35s. For their black card thingy, I'd need to average 75 games for 100 days. It adds up to ~35% RB before leader boards and happy hours. Also, their 60s have lower rake than those on stars, so I might be able to squeeze a small profit in those as well ( I estimate being ~BE on stars 60s, and my EV ROI of -0.20% over 3200 games proves it somewhat).
I now have ~80k fpps, which, after achieving platinum star this month and getting further ~15k, will be worth ~1200$. So the choice is cashing those in, moving to FTP and grinding there, or grinding on stars, hoping to run hot and move to 60s, and then not be a lazy fuck any more and putting in the volume and getting SN.
Additionally, I'm kinda losing confidence in my game. I'm sure I'm beating the 30s, but not for how much I'd want. I reckon I'm at 1.5-2%, perhaps even a bit lower. And, to make things worse, I'm lost at what I'm doing wrong. It might be time to get coaching, as well...
Well, this post is already too long, and I don't suppose anyone will read it, but I had to put it in writing somewhere to clear my head a bit, and a blog looked like a decent place.
Any and all advice is much appreciated. Including that of the state of 35s and 60s on FTP.
Hey guys,
I've somehow again managed to not update for ~2 months... I promise that will change right now, and that I'll update regularly(ish).
First of all, August and September were pretty awesome in all parts of my life. Most importantly, I'm healthy and happy. Been having an amazing time with my girlfriend, family and friends. Poker is also going great, and I've managed some pretty good volume for my standards (well even for regular grinders' standards), and the results are pretty good too... I've been mixing 30s and 60s, with a few 100s in September, that didn't go too well...
So graphs... first August:

EV still a respectable 2% overall ( a bit more on the 30s and a bit less on the 60s). Almost 1900 games is pretty much more than I've ever played...
September:

Actually had negative EV on the 30s, as a result of shitty card distribution, but also some spew as a result of mixing them with 60s and underestimating them... 1600 games and barely platinum, but I haven't played until the 16th because I was on vacation and then had to work 10h days for 5 days ...
-------------------------------------
So what's next? I currently have ~53k yearly VPPs, as a result of being a lazy idiot for most of the year. However, if I maintain the volume from last ~15 days until the end of the year, Supernova is reachable.
A few problems are that my school starts in a week, I'm going to Italy with the gf from 9.10. to 16.10. and I still have work (although very little, I'm almost going pro at poker at this moment).
However, being a massive overthinker and planner, I did the math on missing SN by just a little bit, and the difference is ~$2.8k, which I REALLY can't afford to miss out on. So, I've decided I'm really going for it.
Plan is pretty much this:
12-15k vpps in October,
15-17k in November and
rest in December.
Hopefully December wont have to be a 20k+ vpps month...
So, idk if anyone is reading this, but I'll update with SN chase 2013.
Here's a very short Greece trip report, as it was pretty uneventful vacation, all in all...
I went to Halkidiki (Chalkidiki) with my girlfriend and my two cousins (brother and sister). We went by car so that we could explore the peninsula a bit, and not be stuck to a single place... I have to say it was the best idea we had, as there are a lot of gorgeous places once you leave the tourist hotspots.
We all really needed a rest, so we didn't hunt any parties, but were mostly sunbathing/swimming, drinking at the beach or at the hotel or at some bars. Also, we were there for only 8 full days, so not a lot of time... Here's a few pics ( wow I think these are the first pics of me in this blog... )
My girlfriend and me

My cousins and me (it's not poker we're playing, they suck at it ...)

A beach where we were most days

Hey guys, I'm back ( again ).
Italy was fantastic. We took a rental car at Milano Malpensa airport, and covered ~2000km over 7 days, crashing the first car in the process and replacing it with another one ♦
We visited Parma, Lake Garda, Verona, San Remo (and the surrounding towns), Monaco and slept in a weird bubble in the mountains of France.
All in all it was probably the best trip I've ever had. Both my girlfriend and I enjoy walking around cities, eating and drinking, and don't really like the standard tourist locations, like museums etc, so we were mainly walking from one restaurant to another ♦
The bad part was the car crash, which in itself wasn't too bad, but we lost a whole day dealing with police, hospital (Italians called the ambulance so we had to go), europcar ... That made us not visit Modena and Ferrari's Maranello factory/museum.
Pics will come in a few days, don't have time now...
-----------------
As for poker, things are going pretty good. I had some back problems since I got back, so I couldn't play as much as I wanted, but things are much better now.
I've so far managed ~1400 games, which is not that bad given that I "lost" 10 days on Italy... Results also pretty good, I'm not complaining.
As of this moment, I still need 40k VPPs for SuperNova. I know that sounds bad, but I think I'm going to make it, probably even with time to spare.
Will post a graph at the end of the month
40k vpps, year ago it would be easy, just 4h day for 20 days month, this year I guess it will be hard if you dont sit other people unless you planning taking shots at 200s, than its easy with all battling ♦
Nah.. mixing 30s and 60s, not even close to 100s or 200s ( withdrew a lot and will still have to ).
But I think 6h/day 25 days/month will be enough. I'll probably do some 8-10h days first half of November when my gf is away so that I have some breathing room later..
Definitely wont be easy, but I'm definitely going to do it...
( pics will have to wait, both my and my gf are lazy and can't be arsed to upload them anywhere... )
So, the month of October was a pretty crazy one. I played only 20 days or so, but still managed to play most sngs in a month ever and most vpp-s ever (~10k).
I suppose that shows just how lazy I was in the past, but also that I can sit my ass down and grind. Graph:

Also, Italy was pretty spectacular, thou it made a pretty big dent in my br. It's still pretty solid for the stakes I'm playing.
SO... finishing October left me with 37k vpps to go for SN. Pretty tall order, BUT , I really feel confident about doing it.
My gf had to go back to France ( Serbian origins, but lived there her entire life), for 17 days, and that's the time I catch up with my points. Already got a 1k vpp day today, and will try to play as many of them as possible while she's away... After that, we'll be looking for an apartment together, which is pretty cool and pretty scary at the same time. So it would be nice if I had <20k vpps when she comes back, but I guess <25k would be enough, so that I get ~8k before November end and have something like 17-18k for December...
That's it for now... will try to update more often as I now have something to update about
A second update in two days...
A riddle this time: What happens when Sunday fish meet many of hours of grinding while running like sun?
Answer:

Best day so far, and a second 1k vpp day in a row. Going to bed pleased
Hey guys, time for another update...
I managed another two 1k vpp days. I have to say, this is not easy for someone used to procrastinating so much ![]()
I've been working on my focus using the stuff from "The mental game of poker 2" and it's worked wonders already. I went from managing sessions of 20-25 minutes to 35-40 minute sessions, while having the quality of my game towards the end get much better. I still notice that my game drops a bit when I get tired, but not as dramatically, and I manage to get it up a bit when I realize it. Still plenty of room for improvement, but I'm pretty happy with the way my game's progressed the past few weeks.
Finally, a graph for the last two days:

Today I have a meeting and a class at uni, so probably wont make 1k points. Anywhere from 500-700 will do, though
