SB: $33.40 (133.6 bb)
Hero (BB): $25 (100 bb)
CO: $25 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9 J
CO folds, BTN raises to $0.75, SB folds, Hero raises to $2.60, BTN calls $1.85

Flop: ($5.30) A J 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $3.05, BTN calls $3.05

Turn: ($11.40) T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $4, Hero raises to $19.35 and is all-in, BTN calls $15.25 and is all-in

River: ($49.90) 7 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$49.90 pot ($2.00 rake)
Final Board: A J 3 T 7
BTN showed A 5 and won $47.90 ($23 net)
Hero showed 9 J and lost (-$24.90 net)

Villain is unknown at this point

Pre: Prefer to 3bet rather than call J9o, not sure why though which is something that needs addressing lol.

Flop: Is a cbet standard in this spot vs unknown?

Turn: Theres not alot folding to a double barrel on this turn i don't think but when he bets So small into the pot it kinda tilted me and just shoved hoping to fold something like QQ,KK maybe a weak A / Maybe some weird flush draws he has.

Not totally sure about this hand at all, very ugly :f_frown:

Cheers

Hey,

How much the average BU open on PKR NL25? J9o is often a fold. If you 3bet J9o you 3bet like 20% from BB profitably which seems a bit unrealistic so it seems a preflop fold most often to me vs a 3bb open.

Your reasoning though was that you 3bet for a bluff, right? Now, when you get called, your hand is quite some way behind his range, right? How much did you really improve on that board against his range? Not much imo so I would go with a check/call flop to bluffcatch against a range that contains quite a few suited connectors without a flushdraw and ofc a good amount of good hands. If you bet though you only get called by flips or better which means a range that is ahead of you. That means you cannot value bet. Keep in mind why this is a good bluff board: people fold often so you cannot get thin value. Very important for micros imo!

As played on the flop, turn is insta check/fold, he is always going to have a range better than your hand there.

Not sure it's all that high tbh. got myself in a retarded spot for no reason

Brilliant evaluation. made me laugh reading it thinking how stupid this hand is played!

when we C/C as a bluff catcher are we folding to a blank turn barrel? .. are we just C/C'ing flop hoping to get to showdown unimproved?

Thankyou manu!

The weaker our bluffcatcher (here just a 9 kicker) the more often you fold to the second barrel.. If you have for example hand like A9 that you turn into a bluffcatcher, I'd still 90% check the flop but now you can probably call the turn as well, or maybe with KJ against a more aggressive player vs checks.
