Cold calling w/ JJ

what is your reason for not raising? its only two limpers and a raiser.

There is an MP raiser and two cold callers which leads me to thinks that there are a lot of aces, kings and queens in their ranges. There are many terrible flops for my JJ.

but there are also just as many good flops for your Jacks. 274rr , 396rr etc etc. i think JJ is too good a hand .. the cold callers probably have Ax and Kx yes but that doesn't mean our JJ is a bad hand preflop .. Its probably the best hand preflop and thus you should raise.

about the players. I REALLY dont get why CO cold calls. with his stats. he should seem a decent player (low 3b) so that may cause him to just cold call all small pairs , KQ , JTs , QJ , stuff like that. which your Jacks are very good against on the right low boards. (talking about the broadway combinations.) and against small pairs your Jacks are even greater, unless they hit a set. but so can you and thus you have more BB in the pot = more value..

BTN is a HUGE fish according to his 7 hands. so hes calling with a HUGE range if we take his 85% vpip into account. if he was just running hot and a good player. he wouldw have more than 28 PFR and he would most likely 3b since to him theres only 1 caller.

conclusion : 3b your Jacks. I think your being too scared of the A high board. (which only make our hand more easier to play since you know you shouldn't go crazy when they raise giving us a much more easy reason/chance to fold)

I played around in Equilab and you're right. JJ is just too big a favorite against any cold calling ranges that I could come up with. When overcards hit the flop I just have to give up on excess action.

I guess you could cold call smaller pairs and other hands with good postflop playability, though.

as far as i know people like to overcall or cold call a raiser with hands like JTs etc. im not sure i like cold calling small pairs, i mean i 3b basically anyone with 55+ 22 i fold 33 i raise if no ones raised. and perhaps 33 and 44 is what i could cold call with to a raise but thats not a lot of hands right.

You have the 4th best possible starting hand and thus a big equity overlay here no matter what your opponent's hands are (even more given there's not been a 3-bet yet)

I think calling pre-flop here is leaving money on the table.

Absolutely

Low-Mid pps, suited connectors, Suited Aces, suited broadways. Already 3.2BB in the pot, I can be persuaded to jump in with quite a few hands getting 4-1 effective.
